I love this thank you. I have a question: I work with Elements 11, I notice when you copy from AI to PS you paste it as a Smart Object. I don't seem to have that option. When I paste with pixels it pastes blank.  Is there another way around it or do I need to work with PS? Please help.

the "T" for the logo looks like a phallus, maybe you should expand the arms of the T

@MegaFrank178 Did you remember to change the Image/Mode back to RGB, unless you do this, you wont be able to apply the colour fill. Hope that helps.

@felipe200794 Hi, There is good reason to use the eraser tool in this instance. To colour the dots easily we used a ‘Colour Overlay’ in the layer style. You will find that if we apply a colour overlay without erasing the white area first then the entire layer would have been filled with colour. Also if you use the ‘Multiply’ layer blending mode this would indeed work if you wanted to keep the dots black. But as soon as you use the ‘Colour Overlay’ Layer style you will see the set back…
Felipe (6 years ago)
select white = changing blend mode to multiply. much easier

@MrTommieP ha ha, coincidentally, perhaps it does... and I have been told a few times. But I hope the point its a strawberry in the shape of the T of the current brand typeface comes across also... :)

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It really helped me get thru my Digital 2d design class for my last project. Keep up the good work and Thanks again.

@TastyTuts or go to Select/Inverse (cmd, shift I) and press delete to remove all dots and leave just your selected (face) area left. Hope that helps, Let me know if you have any other problems.
TastyTuts (7 years ago)
I am assuming you already have your line drawing you wish to fill with colour and the dot texture. First you need to make sure that you have your line drawing layer selected in your layers panel, then using the magic wand tool. Select the area of the face, then click on the dot layer in your layers panel and either copy and paste your (face) dot area onto a new layer.....
