The Winnie the Pooh story reminded me of my sons Dick Tracy when he was about 5-6. We had a van like yours where only the back two windows vented. He was sitting by on open window playing and we were coming across a tall bridge. All of a sudden we heard the most pityfull cries, MY MAN, MY MAN!!!!. He had dropped his Dick Tracy man out that little window on top of that bridge! I couldn't stand it so I had my husband turn around when we got off the bridge and see If anyone had run over it. He put the flashers on and pulled over on top of that bridge and I went running across that bridge and found it, Safe and Sound! What a happy little boy and Mama we had that day! Yeah I realized the danger in it but the traffic wasn't very heavy and I would to this day risk my life for my babies, 33 and 35!

DEBRAJOY, I always enjoy your story telling time. Well I'll share one about my son when he was almost 4. I was at my parents house in Texas sitting on the front porch with my son, dad, and brother, and my son said, "I need to tt, " and my dad said, "go tt behind that tree," and my son goes over behind that tree, but he was turned the wrong way exposing himself to the neighbors house across the street who were sitting on their porch, but his back was to the tree in front of us, but he was facing the neighbors. We all had a good laugh, and my son was mad because we told him why we were laughing, because he didn't notice the neighbors across the street. ❤💕

My uncle had 10 children. When he had 8 children he had a pink mustang. He was driving on a major highway doing about 50 mph. Hot day windows down. My uncle was counting heads and only counts 7. He asks the oldest wheres sean, martin replies sean gone. He said where did sean go. Sean gone out the window. Lucky and blessed he bounced twice and rolled down a grass hill on the shoulder of the road. The woman behind my uncle stopped and helped him. True story.

I am having such a good time with great nieces and nephews and seeing their folks and the youngest niece still in HS now...all this for 10 years now after 20 away and only making it home to half of Christmases...a favorite memory of mine is when a 4 year old nephew saw a one year old nieces new little play kitchen as he walked in my folks house Christmas morning and said, "Anyone want a cup of coffee". My sweet niece had it to grow into and my nephew was right there,,,,I say that to myself every time I make myself a cup of coffee and remember the joy of this sweet social kid. My niece at same time was figuring out how to put on apron mom, granny, had made for her and this was a ranch Christmas before the end of those years...Christmas was always just special there..even when snowed in ...lol ....the wonder of God's earth and deer coming down low from higher up and just truly beautiful family memories and all grandparents who could came...my mom's mom until she passed was always with us at Christmas....even two days before gong home to heaven. Great one Debrajoy, we all love love our beloved children and our elders and relatives connecting...that is the best...xo so glad your hubby caught him.

Ahhhh, I just love your stories Debra Joy ! Kids sure can keep you on your toes. I've got a couple of cute stories about my son & daughter. First, is when Michael was less than a year old. My husband would change diapers, but of course, not as often as I did. Well, one of these times he had just gotten home from work & had poured himself a cup of coffee before he came into the living room where we all were. He set his cup on the coffee table while he changed our son. He had taken off the wet diaper no problem, while he had his back turned to grab a new diaper, my little boy peed again and believe it or not, it went right into my hubbies' coffee cup! I tell you, I never laughed so hard, Of course, my husband was impressed his boy had such pressure he could pee that far......That's one time I wish I had a camera, because a lot of people don't believe us when we tell that story. The next story is about our daughter Melissa, from the time she was about 4 yrs old, every time we moved she always wanted us to have a house that had a fireplace. We would go looking at places to live and if we saw one that we liked, but it didn't have a fireplace, she didn't want to live here. She would say it's a yucky house or it too ugly....something that would be negative. I always asked her why do you like fireplaces so much. Her answer was.... I just do. Finally, after a few years of going through this every time we moved, I figured it out. Santa Claus !! She was always afraid that if we didn't have a fireplace Santa wouldn't come there! Well, thanks for letting us share our own memories with you. You look happy, Hope you don't work yourself too hard. Take care, Prayers & Hugs coming your way !

Your stories are hilarious! I did the same thing your son did, throw my best toy out the car window on the highway. MIne was a foam rubber rabbit that could be bent into different shapes and I loved it til it was dust! We were driving to my grandparents' cabin in northern Ontario, and this was back in the mid 50s so that meant travelling at city driving speed and every trip meant at least one stop for a flat tire and a vapor lock. So there we were, pulled over to the side of the road and someone got a photo of my father running along the highway in his fuzzy slippers with my rubber rabbit in his hand. LOL!!!!

I have a question... does he remember that old Winnie the Poo bear? Because you're going to think I'm kidding, but I'm not. I have one that is probably about 30 or so years old, and if you think it would bring a smile to his face, I'd send it to you to give to him. I know my Son is almost 34, and I have his Baby Snuggles bear and Momma Snuggles bears that he had when he was a toddler. As well as his Muffin bear, I got him when he was 3. He wanted me to hang on to them so they didn't get damaged or lost. I have a Pooh bear, and it's old but still has that red felt shirt on it. Let me know if you want it, I'll send it to you! :-)

Funny, lawdy my children are in their 30's and I still do that if their in the car with me, I would reach out if we had to stop fast, and of course they think I'm bankers !!
Joyce Barnett (1 year ago)
You are so right that they are sneaky. My son did the same thing with a toy sea horse. We were on the interstate and could not stop or turn around. He was about 8 years old and he still talks about it today. We can laugh about it now but at the time it sure was not funny. Stay safe and happy trails. Love ya Joyce

Im in church with my then 1 year old and I was struggling to keep him in my lap . He managed to squirm down off my lap and crawled under the pews as fast as he could go and lost his little pants and diaper along the way .He made his way down to the front of the alter and looked up at the minister and cried dad dad dad lol I wanted to die right there lol Everyone laughed and the minister picked him up and continued his sermon lol That was 43 years ago and it still seems like yesterday .lol I loved your story lol

Cute stories and glad your eldest son didn't get hurt.Recently I had a yardworker come to give me an estimate. He brought his two boy's and the little one is about a year old.Well I have a steep driveway and we were all standing at the top,and his little one year old started running down the driveway in full speed.I never saw a Father run soo fast, and pick up his child like this one did.I also started to react, but not like his dad did.We were all relieved he was o.k.When kids start to walk a parent has to watch them every second.Good luck at your meeting, and getting the store ready very soon now.Be well you all.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡.......

I told you about our late friend Alex at the race track...now, years before that, he was preparing to get married. The date was set. And, the night before he was to 'tie the knot', he was in a poker game and not doing too well. The time came he put everything into a last big pot...and lost it. Lee, an Asian fellow, won it. And, he said, "Alex, I know you plan to get married tomorrow, so here" and he pushed all the money over to Alex. Alex thanked him profusely, saying that without that he wouldn't have been able to go through with the wedding...Years later after a very bitter divorce, Alex ran into Lee at a bar and had to be restrained from attacking him, saying, 'Lee! you rotten so and so, if you didn't give me that cash I'd have never married that dirty b---h!!

I rewatched your video about your youngest son and how much you loved him. It helped when I went to court about the boy I have had custody of. I no longer have custody because he is on the streets and doing drugs. I have only had him for two years and it has been hard. I want you to know how much your video helped me.

In the mid 90"s we were living in Colleyville,TX. A NICE NEGHBORHOOD. MY husband had left Colleyville, for a job near our home town. He could not work for a female. ( misogyny ) His father found him a family practice group. He left me, like he would, when he was in the navy, to handle everything. I was beginning to get Ill from the porphyria. I had to keep the house sparkling clean and take care of 2 small children, 2 large dogs, maintain the yard, drive the kids, to and from school, and much more . The little boy across the streetl had stolen my baby"s Rose Bunny stuffed toy, her favorite. He lied when asked about it, and her heart was broken . My son made no friends. He was a loner. I ended up with Bells palsey. I awoke to find I could not use half my face . My tongue would not work. My eye was drooped. My face was hanging on one side. So, I tried to call my husband at his medical practice. I mumbled awhile, and they realized I was the new Dr's wife. I told him I think I had a stroke !He asked questions and diagnosed me. He told me to get someone to take the kids to school, and for someone to take me to a neurologist. The same woman did both. What a kind person.to help a stranger! She took the kids to and from school, until the doctor said I could drive. It was an unhappy and stressful time for me. I was walking around the neighborhood trying to lose Weight. Not knowing I was making myself ill. My heart was pounding, and I was out of breath. I believe the stress of all I had to do, and what was going on, with the only neighbors I knew, were getting to me. Then , I had to put down my best friend, Chadwick, a Dalmatian. Before I could drive to Charleston, from the Dallas area. I did everything by my self in my condition. But my love for my husband, and my children, and their safety, was my utmost concern. While I was busy inside the house, my 6 year old son decided to fly off the tall freezer, in the garage! He broke his forearm! You can imagine how I felt. They were still in school, and I had to explain what happened. And the tech did not put the cast on properly. So that was another problem . At playtime, something happened, and my son said he was protecting a girl, when he got on top of a boy and was hitting him with the cast. He got in lots of trouble. All I needed! Eventally I got the house sold. And drove to Charleston. We stopped in Mississippi. We had a hotel room that let me bring up a large dog. We did not stay for breakfast, because we were not in a good area, and I could not keep momma bear eyes on all of them. At.the same time. It rained on.the trip home. And all our clothes got wet in the new piece of equipment, that I had tied on the roof. One time, when it was sunny in Alabama, we were driving home, and the kids would not stop arguing. My son said he wanted out and would walk to Charleston. So I pulled over on the side of the road and let him out. I would never have left him, but I pulled down the road a ways. and slowed down, and he started running toward the car. I think he learned his lesson. Today. I probably would have been arrested for that . But sometimes it takes tough love to get a kid's attention. I got his, and their were no more fights from Alabama, to Charleston. It was wonderful to see my home town. I am typing this full of Ativan. I had an MRI of my brain today. And am still loopy! I have lost count of how many corrections I have made, cannot see well. That is my story about my son.

i'VE GOT ONE FOR YA...My daughter was 4 yrs old and she asked me what a virgin was. I said "What?? A VIRGIN? Who said that to you??" and she said "Granny". (Well, I knew my mother was a prude, so I proceeded to question her).... "What did Granny say?" And she looked at me and said, "I asked her to tell me the story of the 3 Bears and she said that she would tell me her virgin".
Janet Allison (1 year ago)
Joan Milano, lol
Sarah J. (1 year ago)
So cute Joan Milano, that reminded me when mom gave one sis the birds and the bees story she said, "mom that word vagina made me thing of vanilla ice cream can I have some?" lol...nonplussed on the whole ordeal...lol, Mom just never wanted us to be in the no info mode when we "started"...she was so cute when she went over it..lol...and was trying so hard to be more informative than her era.

Body blocking comes natural to women. My mother did it even when her kids were adults. I would do it when my niece or nephew was in the front seat with their seat belt on. It's an instinctual habit to protect those we love. I've never seen a man do it though.
Z Jorat (1 year ago)
I have seen many men doing just that including my father, brother, male friends and my husband. It's all about instinct not gender.
Nancy Harbison (1 year ago)
Michele Of The Oaks My fiance put his arm out to protect me yesterday when someone turned in front of us and he had to break hard.. He does it every time. As a side note, he was in a bad mood from pain, and was not fun to be around but that love and protect instinkt kicked in. My dad was like that too.
Donna Radonski (1 year ago)
My mother clotheslined the passenger in the front seat until the day she passed lol. Car seats didn’t come out until mine were to old for them. I’ll have to ask them if they remembered being clotheslined lol. Your son being alive is the sign of a great mom!! Fun thing - my neighbor got a new puppy. And my pharmacist said I’m looking better. It’s the puppy love that made my heart happy.
Leslie C (1 year ago)
Donna Radonski ... My mom did that to me (born in 1950). I always think of her and that move. I do it now, out of habit, to my husband who always is buckled up.
Debrajoy (1 year ago)
Oh I'm so glad sweetie you're getting some puppy love we all need it!

This was the first year we ever had to pay the IRS. We used to get back like $3000 every year, but me receiving four years of disability backpay hurt us BAD! There can’t ever be good without a bad it seems. Ok. So my three year old was traumatized when she lost her little baby that fit inside her hand. It was like a miniature bean baby. I think that’s why she’s a little warped at 36! I really do. Major deep trauma. I had gotten it in Germany, so I couldn’t replace it. That’s serious stuff.

Debrajoy my son is 43 and when he was 2 years old l drove into a service station to get some gas. I hurried up inside to pay and when I came out l found my son had unbuckled his seat belt and locked the car. It was the last time I ever left the keys in the car with my son. But he wouldn't open the door, first he thought it was funny and then he was too afraid because he could see l was getting upset. In the meantime we had a lineup of cars who couldn't get to the petrol bowser. The attendant at the Gas Station finally bribed my son with an ice block and finally the door was opened. Ahhhhh memories!

Hi lady. I'm thinking having your shade in the back window while driving might be illegal ? 💜
Debrajoy (1 year ago)
Lots and lots of fans don't have side windows or back windows exclamation mark perfectly legal
Michele Of The Oaks (1 year ago)
No. As long as you have two side mirrors it's perfectly legal. Think of moving vans, they don't have a rear window, just those side mirrors.
