It's a stunningly beautiful collection, minus all the dead bodies strewn about the stage. I am delighted that the designs don't focus on animals skins and furs though.

Well it's a spring /summer collection so it would be weird to use leather or fur..in large quantities at least!!

I was not aware of that. :) Yay!

thrivesurvive Agree, Though I do appreciate that McQueen gives faux fur as a option for products and What I really appreciated of Alexander himself is that after he died, he gave four animal charities large donations.

I don't think there has been a single more influential collection by anyone since this one. Though Raf's last at Jil Sander affected mass market products more, this one influenced the clothing industry immediately.

It didn't change everything for everyone, it just stands out for me as the last time in recent fashion times that anything stood out as a kind of game changer. Galliano at Margiela is still throwing out new ITEMS and fabrics that are influencing things, but we don't see strong, singular direction from anyone anymore. It's all a mish mash of production management and market research now.

This was the first time we saw engineered digital prints of this calibre. The lengths also changed the prevailing mood and the London-based designers generally followed this cue: Katrantzou, Erdem and others. The fringe work was completely new. It wasn't immediate, the influence, it took a few seasons for the major houses to feel it.

what an amazing story and collection. Forever live Mcqueen.
