So I am fairly new at this but when doing puffs do you take the pony tail out each night and freshen them with water and new bands the next day?
Brown Girls Hair (1 year ago)
True!

I use rubberbands on my daughter's hair. I prefer them because I break them instead of trying to slide them out. I don't put them in tight. You can look on my channel to see my daughter's hair. I wrap the band w times. I find that things you can not cut will break the hair.

I agree with you Chrissy!

+Mary ReedMartinez ABSOLUTELY!

Great info I have seen little girls with rubber bands so tight they start getting bumps and I want to scream. Rubber bands being too tight cause alopecia.
Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+Morena Azucar Thanks for the information!
Morena Azucar (2 years ago)
+Brown Girls Hair yes when I was getting my braiding license we studied it. Traction Alopecia the same as when you get braids or weaves to tight.
Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+Morena Azucar OMG...I hate seeing that.....I didn't know it can cause alopecia.

I use rubber bands on my daughter as well. I bought the comb with a cutter on the end to cut hers out. I never pulled her off either.
Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+afrocentricity3 Yep...I know gimmie clips makes a comb like that!

+Kyleigh Benton YES! One is coming Friday! Thanks for watching!
I have been following you for years since my daughter is probably a couple of years younger than your daughter. I would like your input on a problem. I'm having an issue in getting her hair to grow. Do you have an email address I go further in details?
Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+regisnyder I'm so glad that you've been on this journey with us.....I actually have something in the works for this issue...I'm trying to decide how to do it....I get the question about hair growth all of the time and I plan to address it this summer. You can e-mail me at [email protected] or you can send me a message on our facebook page Brown Girls Hair.

I agree with you. I used them on my 2 yr old and I cut them out as well
Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+Keisha Rodgers I'm so glad you agree. All accessories should be used with caution and care. All  of them have the potential to break the hair off. It's all in proper use. I don't just share my opinion, I share what I have actually done for years and the results speak for themselves! Thanks for sharing!

I use rubber bands on my daughter’s hair as well. When I remove them I apply a little olive oil to the rubber band and her hair which causes the band to slide off with ease and does not pull her hair out at all.
Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+NeeNeeG33 I've heard of soaking the rubber bands in olive oil. I didn't mention it because I haven't done it and can't testify to that from first hand experience. I'm glad to know that it works! Thanks for sharing!

Brown Girls Hair (2 years ago)
+Zakeiya Bausley They certainly will if they are not used with care.
Okay I didn't know these are good to used. I know the ones I used be pulling her hair when I take them out.

+Amanda Loseweight Gastric Bypass Journey It's all in how you use them. But if rubber bands don't work for you, don't use them :)!
I think rubber bands is bad for your hair.
