Heated Jackets; interesting concept but for only specific purposes and situations. The Winter Overnight Adventure is coming up on Friday! - Luke

Looking forward to a new Overnight Adventure! Thanks Luke!

I wish give these heated jackets to breast cancer people for free in colder areas.

Hope you contact ORORO about your jacket issues. I just received my Men's Jacket and my daughter's Women's Jacket. The Men's Jacket came with their 2019 Battery which is soft feel, rounded corners smaller in size. It also came with a short pigtail that locks into the battery tighter and the jacket tighter so it doesn't power down by bumping the battery. HOWEVER The hood is still oversized but not as bad, I think it's the material making it stand up.
video too long. i skipped more than i watched....

Should have bought a Milwaukee.
Colin Baker (4 months ago)
don't buy , ours never gets warm I mean warm no way just a gentle glow , the battery gets warmer than the jacket as it discharges , so put hands in battery compartment to warm one hand
nvd2ceb4 (4 months ago)
I have the vest and I will admit the battery is very uncomfortable. It has a little weight to it so it weighs down on one side. It doesn't stay charged long if it's on high. In the past few days where the weather was in the negatives I sat with this on in my home, lol and the battery drains quick on high. Low & medium still doesn't last as long either. I've had this since my birthday which was in January but I've charged this battery about five times within two and a half weeks. It also takes a long time for the battery to charge. I didn't buy this. It was given to me for my b-day. For what I've used it for I do like it. I'm not an outdoors type person so it's kept me warm when I needed it to.
Chris Stoerzer (4 months ago)
Great review. That batery looks more slim than the Milwaukee
Brandon Neil (4 months ago)
The large hood idea might be to use with a construction helmet. Construction workers seem to be a big user of these types of garments
Vivienne CS (4 months ago)
One key thing I don't know if you mentioned is the clothes is designed for really above average height models. On their site... Men's Model is 6'2" and wearing a size Medium Women's Model is 5'10" and wearing a size Small. I'll stick with Columbia & Spyder since they come in much nicer BRIGHTER colors than just black and all the extra adjustments to keep out the wind/weather.
xEricC1001x (5 months ago)
This review was for the versions before the "2018 version". The 2018 version of the exact jacket has a larger battery, as well as the sidepockets having zippers in the male version.
Sri Yantra (5 months ago)
Robert Goodman (5 months ago)
One thing you didn't mention is the weight of the battery and therefore the entire wait of the jacket. Since the battery is in your lower left hip area, if someone were to be running or jumping or some other athletic activity, my guess is that the battery will be giggling around and bouncing up and down making it even less comfortable for daily activities.
Rab carn (5 months ago)
The jacket would be useless if caught in heavy rain or shower whilst out somewhere
Darill Fowler (5 months ago)
Wow, I'm so glad I watched this video before buying this junk. Thank you for saving my money! I appreciate it.
ddavel5441 (5 months ago)
Good honest Review. To bad the battery makes it a just an over priced $200 jacket, lol. Glad I went with an AGPTEK Heated Vest (power switch at low right waist line)...just $57. Separate power $22. Vest has 5 heat elements. 2 front, 3 back, just put my winter coat over it...toasty!
Organized Entropy (5 months ago)
I really appreciate your in-depth reviews guys. I work a night shift in a warehouse that's freezing and I'm looking for a heating jacket. This review really helps.
DavidTech (5 months ago)
Why not just have multiple power bank's in your car or a spare battery to keep you warm.
CagedLemp (6 months ago)
I bought a milwakee heated hoodie and I and very pleased with it.

Susan looks like Amy Adams . Beautiful 😊. Great review . Thank you 😊
S Jones (6 months ago)
The hood works great if you wear a hard had for your job. Also if you have any type of additional head covering on the hood works well
Windwar attack (6 months ago)
Just buy a slim line 10000 mah power bank..pain and problem solved
Stumblmer (6 months ago)
Please do a gear review of the new 2019 ororo heated vest
Anthony Ryder (6 months ago)
Well the inside of the jacket should be warm right?, So shouldn't the cold not affect the battery? Or is it too low and isn't near the coils enough?
fklotaloi (7 months ago)
Why do u not using another Power Bank type of battery 🔋??
fklotaloi (5 months ago)
@David Sarnevitz , This stock battery 🔋 is 7.4volt and do u knw mAh of it?
David Sarnevitz (5 months ago)
fklotaloi That’s exactly what I plan to do. I just don’t know what the size of the barrel connector is that’s inside the jacket. I’m going to try out that when I get this jacket. I have a 32k mAh battery pack. That’d be like endless heating.
paul merida (7 months ago)
Definitely look into the ministry of supplies heated jacket

MDSsystems (7 months ago)
what about short to medium motorcycle/bicycle trips in the cold
MDSsystems (7 months ago)
put a 12 hour 1 dollar hand warmer in your pocket next to the battery that will get you the 77 degrees for OPTIMAL battery life ...........took me like 10 seconds to think of that ..........or just complain and don't try and WORK THE PROBLEM
FireLysm (4 months ago)
You are purchasing a jackat for $200+ and this kind of solutions are something you should not count and relay on because in real life scenario they don't work. You go hiking in mountains and you camp on snowy cold area. As simple as 30min of cold conditions not heating the battery can drain it hard and if you relay on it, you'll eventually regreat your choice of tool to tackle that issue. Yes this might work for you, but as they said, it's perfect for people with speciffic tasks, not hiking or any other cold hobbies. This is for people that want to stay warm on day to day routine as reviewers mantioned. And they are not wrong about the manufacturer facts, because since release of video this comment is less sthan 10 months old and they already removed battery stats claim. If you can't stand behind them, don't promote something you can't deliver.

big fan,but making jokes about #metoo, thats risky and a little insensitive

fuck anyone in the asshole with a rubber dick if they are "offended" by this.
lakrabid (1 year ago)
Heated jackets are a failed concept tried in the 1960's by companies who have no real idea or no care for how the human body actually works. Same as goretex which is nothing but marketing bullying by Bobby Gore. All they care about is profit.
JC Luca (1 year ago)
Thanks guys great review :)

Layering is the best.
ExRE_Sapper (1 year ago)
You need a flexible solar panel sown into the back of the jacket to recharge the "brick". :)
DAVE MARKIEWICZ (1 year ago)
I'm thinking "What if ....... ?" What if you had 2 or perhaps even 3 batteries and solar charging while back packing ? The other idea is a heat pad for the sleeping bag ..... ? (Would be better as a devoted product).
Robert Grant (1 year ago)
Love these Jackets Luke, perfect for the snow adventure.
astrog8tr (1 year ago)
I got something like this. It was not as expensive ($60ish), but had no hood. It was kind of a waste. It went thru the battery in about a year. Battery life is sheer fiction. I'd say not worth the money.
Paul Reape (1 year ago)
wearing a backpack w/ a hip belt would suck.
James Ellsworth (1 year ago)
Fine for late season football games and outdoor stadium sitting?
BIG JOE OUTDOORS (1 year ago)
These would be great when going to watch a sporting event outdoors in real cold weather. Just bring a rechargeable battery to keep it juiced, lol.
The Bryan Family (1 year ago)
I believe the high hood is probably to accommodate a sock hat

JK 241 (1 year ago)
how about a lithium battery for cold weather
JK 241 (1 year ago)
how about a tight fitting heated vest instead
IamETOH (1 year ago)
No thanks, I'll stick to the time tested and true layering system. 👍🏻
affalaffaa (1 year ago)
Good review. I just can't see that it's any any better than a thousand other jackets out there. For that price you can get a half decent down jacket, also anyone living in serious minus temperatures will already have that base covered. Seems to me that it's just made for the sake of making it.
Richard Jones (1 year ago)
That hood may be made to pull up over a climbing helmet. I bought a camo hunting jacket 8 years ago and she is still going strong. My heated parka has two battery packs and would say that both batteries combined would be smaller than one for your jacket. The battery storage compartments for the jacket are will up above your belt line. My jacket has three setting and will keep me very comfortable on the low setting for just over 6 hours. I use it for deer hunting in southern Ohio where the temps can range from the teens to 30's during deer season. I have worn it in below zero weather sitting in a ground blind as well so it has been put to the test. My jacket/parka is made by Columbia and it's called the Thermal-Electric Omni Heat model.
Huw Sands (1 year ago)
Try swapping hoods?
Richard Matthews (1 year ago)
Stadium coat
Dave Deiler (1 year ago)
The jackets look very nice and stylish, well except for the hood. Price is not too bad. OK so it looks like you are packing heat, the self-defense type of heat The time the battery lifetime sounds like an issue
Kevin Piggott (1 year ago)
detailed review - not a fan though
Mike Boone (1 year ago)
Those things are great for ball games or sporting events but for backing packing and camping just don't think so .

that hood is to fit over your davey crocket hat
Jeff Porto (1 year ago)
Oh well, so much for this company, because I'm a 3x size. The company should make bigger sizes. Great review though.
ben terwellen (1 year ago)
I made the mistake of buying heated gloves, paid too much money, they lasted about 1.5 years and the battery pack wire failed, no customer support, as a result these gloves your jacket are just a gimmick, i will never by heated clothing of any type again.
fitnready4 (1 year ago)
Maybe useful for something like watching winter sports, but apart from that its too bulky and unreliable - you could fit a full top quality down suit in that carry bag!
Garrett Rhines (1 year ago)
Straight up junk.
Jerry Puckett (1 year ago)
Great 👍 review Just not for me
84GreenBear (1 year ago)
#1- No manual voltage regulator to control the amount of heat? #2 Redesign of the heating elements is what I recommend. The elements should follow the artery lines of the human physique. #3 battery should be relocated to an exterior pocket for safety. If battery overloads or shorts or explodes shielding to protect the wearer should be implemented. How fire proof is this jacket?
Ellis Holcomb (1 year ago)
Thanks I appreciate you for take your time to share with us
Jöran Jäderberg (1 year ago)
Well that batterypack should be slim like a mobilephone and the pocket where the battery are stored should be padded to keep the battery warm so you don´t loose the power. Great video as usual.
Larry Kramer (1 year ago)
That light will ruin your night vision.
Larry Kramer (1 year ago)
Hood accommodates Conehead family.
Larry Kramer (1 year ago)
Another thing that can go blooey just when you need it. A good use for it would be to warm lost people when rescued (if the battery isn't found to be dead).
A. Q. (1 year ago)
Maybe Luke should look into skull elongation for the hood to fit!
Bobby Harper (1 year ago)
Is that a battery in your pocket or are you glad to see me. Ewww.
John Ganshow (1 year ago)
As long as my thong is heated, my whole body feels warm, in the harshest conditions...
Auto Repair (6 months ago)
John Ganshow where’s the battery compartment located on your hammock?
John Sayles (1 year ago)
Hey Luke. I have Kodiac’s version of this. And it looks very similar except mine does not have a hood. Which I would not use anyway. I primarily use mine as a layer while riding my motorcycle during winter months. But it’s so comfortable that I do wear it casually as well. Mine has 2 much smaller batteries. A 6 hour and an 8 hour. I don’t get those hours either but at least I have a second battery.
It’s okay for someone who needs this! It’s not practical ! And brother that hood on your head was just not you! LOL!

kebindesu (1 year ago)
heck if you add an aftermarket quality battery bank (think 10,000 mAh Anker for much less bulk than that monster), you could easily double all those times. carry a couple spares for a weekend? or just wear a good insulated midlayer haha
Aspengold (1 year ago)
They should have made the battery connector a micro USB. At least then you could switch the battery yourself and switch batteries at will. This seems like they are trying to lock customers into their battery. 10000 Mah batteries aren't that big or that expensive.

So funny about TSA. Try to walk in an airport with a turban. 😜

The TSA officer should be able to swab to verify no explosive content ... I have had my laptop swabbed almost everytime after the X-ray (even my iPad once).

hurry up Friday lol nice looking jackets but like you hood and battery would be problematic

I lol'd at Suzie when she said 4500 "mmaaahhh"... Never heard it like that before...LOL
MuvoTX (1 year ago)
I used a zippo hand warmer in the chest pocket of my down jacket... Worked surprisingly well.
MuvoTX (1 year ago)
Why did they design it with a proprietary battery?.... They should have made it compatible with any generic USB connector battery bank
Margery K (1 year ago)
Great review guys! How about just buying a quality winter jacket? I live in Wisconsin and have never needed a heated jacket. (although sometimes I do cheat with a few handwarmers stuffed in the pockets) ATB!
Jeremy Gaiser (6 months ago)
A heated jacket would be much less bulky. If you dont want to waddle around like the kid from Christmas story, a thinner heated jacket on cold days would be nice.
Margery K (1 year ago)
sairvinginthestacks Go Badgers! : )
sairvinginthestacks (1 year ago)
Margery K as a fellow Wisconsinite I agree. Spend the $200 on a decent winter jacket, hat, and gloves. I've cheated with hand warmers in my shoes or boots before.
Chiefkirk Outdoors (1 year ago)
I'm thinking that the hood is large enough to put a heavy winter cap under it. A baseball cap bill would keep the hood from falling into your eyes and a big thick Russian style hat with ear flaps would fit under it also. Just a thought.
Barney Rubble (1 year ago)
maybe the huge hood is so you can fit a helmet underneath, for certain winter sports?
dhession64 (1 year ago)
This jacket would be perfect for my cold-blooded, it's-never-warm-enough mother in law. She keeps a jacket around when it's 70degF out just in case there's a breeze (she's diabetic so she has an excuse lol). Can you plug it straight into the wall? That would be ideal for her ;-) I love her to pieces, so don't think I'm ungrateful to her for giving me the love of my life. It's sort of a running joke in the family. But something like this would likely be a nice bit of kit for her. And you neglected to mention price on this item.
gaz lyno (1 year ago)
Bad idea, not keen on it :/
