All my tackle is oid and out of production so cannot give you any idea of new makes/models. Try contacting a fishing club in your area, they may have information plus some secondhand gear to sell.
Mate you just cost me 80 bucks in beepers after watching this. Thanks I think 😉

good idea Mr. Graeme, can you share again in a primitif ones ? Thank's for share...keep update :)
Eky_UK_Gamer (1 year ago)
Good cheap Idea Graeme, but to improve the design maybe a "eye screw" and a "dog clip" attached to a length of string so you can tie the string to a fixed point on the key-side and clip the Dog Clip to the Eye Screw that's screwed into the block of wood. So if u do kick the block it doesn't disappear into the sea.

With all of the rest of the kit I have to carry now I will have to take half pallet. Might have to invest in a forklift. Keep up the fun work

Auntystatic (2 years ago)
screw an eyelet into the wood and clip a safety line to it and your chair so it can't be kicked over the side :)

+ARSENAL EDITS Oh sorry. They're too high up for him apparently.
Connor Gibson (2 years ago)
I know i said carp 'pod'
44kizza44 (2 years ago)
ARSENAL EDITS carp rods are usually 2 3/4 to 3 lb test curves boat. for conga you need like 20lb test curve for the smaller ones

Always enjoy Graham's videos, especially the dyi ones. While kayak fishing, we always leash the rods. Same would apply to pier fishing, you would hate to lose your rig to the big one that got away.

You stole my MULTI MILLION DOLLAR idea! My father and I are going to make something very similar for when we go ice fishing. :D Not only will it be great for when we're doing the dishes in the hut or when we have a rod outside but we are also going to be able to fish through the night rather than bringing our lines out of the water and missing any midnight bites. I'm glad we weren't the only ones that thought of doing this.

Nice video Graham, a bit of fun (how dare you have fun on your own channel!) with a practical slant.    Reminded me of when I had not too much disposable income so had to come up with some quirky but functional pieces of fishing kit.    Made me smile that.   Keep it fun, stay young.     Best wishes.    D.

I have tried simlar. On a rough night you get a bleep every 10 seconds - very annoying for those around you.
Von Dumbtard (2 years ago)
Bsf 3/8" 20tpi is an old forgotten thread.... only the stubborn britts still uses that..... thankfully I own a set of taps and dies :)
Thunder Monkey (2 years ago)
attach a little eye bolt, length of string and tie it on to the pier railing
Thomas Kehoe (2 years ago)
just watch the rod tip
Daniel Herrett (2 years ago)
TAFishing Do you know what nut size thanks
Thomas Kehoe (2 years ago)
Fair enough
TA Fishing (2 years ago)
But when conger fishing several rods are spaces apart along the pier.It would be like watching a tennis match, plus,as I said in the film,it is sometimes difficult to hear the clicker.
vibratingstring (2 years ago)
Around here we just put jingle bells on the rod tip. Seems to work just fine...
Arjan Wilbie (2 years ago)
first, it is a workshop, not a museum. yes the triangle is the strongest, but hammer the nails in at a angle. second, i cringed when you drilled that hole. keep it straight or get it sharpened. third, i get some hinges and use a double set up for the beach with pallet wood.
Arjan Wilbie (2 years ago)
Still it fucks the drill. If my teacher saw me do that I ended up with a black eye.
Steffan Griffiths (2 years ago)
He clearly stated why he was moving the drill in a circular motion while drilling, it was to make the hole slightly wider the accommodate the nut a bit better. Listen!
Arjan Wilbie (2 years ago)
+Andy Dunnock yes, workshop parties with restoring old tools and cars. Beer and soda included. No issues there.
Andy Dunnock (2 years ago)
Do you get invited to a lot of parties?
Turbo Chode (2 years ago)
Great idea but..sea salt and bite alarms may not mix too well... remember to clean them after :)
rocky (2 years ago)
Add an eye screw and a length of cord to secure the bite alarm block to the pier.
Nick Eldridge (2 years ago)
graham. I have often thought about making a buz bar for a tripod so you can fit buzzers for normal beach casting ..... what do you think?
TA Fishing (2 years ago)
Worth a go.Might not hear the buzzer over the sound of the crashing surf, but the red indicator light would stand out well.
David Harvey (2 years ago)
Great video as always Graeme. Though you'd forgot sea anglers. Any chance of a cod quest video or anything off the beach? or anything off the beach.
George Woodley (2 years ago)
good video TA
UK BEACH FISHING (2 years ago)
Another awesome vid guys, I don't go conger fishing myself. but it's always nice to see some great ideas. I'm looking forward to more beach fishing videos. thank you for all the effort you put in.
Thomas Jarvis (2 years ago)
I did the same thing but instead of wood I used the top of my tackle box It works like a charm ( I do get a few odd looks though 😀)
Dan 51489 (2 years ago)
tafishing is braided line good for carp fishing?
Dan 51489 (2 years ago)
+DjDolHaus86 ok Thank you for your advice
TjDolHaus86 (2 years ago)
Does has a habit of causing damage to fish, its both highly abrasiveness and the lack of stretch makes ripping the hook out way easier which causes mouth damage. Wouldn't recommend it for a beginner but if you do then scale your tackle to avoid applying excess pressure and make sure the last 4ft of mainline is clad in some kind of tubing to reduce the risk of skin damage. Also worth noting that it can cut your finger to the bone when casting so don't go too hard too soon
Oliver Wrixon (2 years ago)
DannyGaming and if you get in a snag braid is stronge and dosnt stretch like mono and tears through weed. basically you are more likely to get your gear back with braid
Oliver Wrixon (2 years ago)
DannyGaming you can get alot more braid on the spool because it is stronger, eg 15lb mono is .40 mm 15lb braid would be about .34-.35 mm
Dan 51489 (2 years ago)
+Oliver Wrixon how come?
