I feel like this is a lot of work for something that could be easily simplified especially for beginners. Great video! But I don’t think it’s going to be helpful for me unfortunately.
Edgar Allen Ho (19 days ago)
Treasurie thank you so much! You too! Let me just add that’s not to say this tutorial won’t be helpful in the future! I’m just getting started so I’m trying to start with something easy and work my way up. This was a really great way to make a scrunchie though! ❤️

9 inches is to tight for thick hair I recommend 12- 13inch,
Treasurie (1 month ago)
Really appreciate that tip for thick hair. I assume that lets you twist twice. Thanks for your comments and for watching.

Treasurie (2 months ago)
Hey PuppyCrush, thanks for subscribing. I really appreciate it. Lots of new videos in the new year :)
I tried it! But it was honestly too difficult for beginners! It takes way more time than 5 minutes too achieve this if you are a beginner ( I’m not hating or anything but just telling my opinion)
Lilibeth C (2 months ago)
Yea it took an hour but turned out great, it was my first time!!!
Treasurie (2 months ago)
Thanks so much for your honest feedback. If you get stuck on any of the steps let me know and perhaps I can help. It is just straight sewing but the turning the tube can be a little daunting if you are doing it for the first time. Everything gets easier with practice - especially sewing. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas.
Naomi Garben (3 months ago)
Can i use a 1” wide elastic? If not can i cut it in half lengthwise?
Treasurie (3 months ago)
If you cut it lengthwise it may stretch all out of shape. You will just have to cut a piece and pull and test it. It depends how it is woven. 1 inch elastic might be hard to twist around your hair a couple of times unless it is really soft.
Nahid Rafi (3 months ago)

Isabel Matta (3 months ago)
Way too large to fit around my wrist. Disappointed.
mugsis and me (2 months ago)
Really mine was 2 small •_•
Isabel Matta (3 months ago)
+Treasurie Thank you
Treasurie (3 months ago)
Hi Isabel, this is a hair scrunchie but it is easy to adjust if you want to put it around your wrist. Just measure your wrist and cut the elastic 1/2 inch longer. You can use the same measurements for the fabric. Then you can put it in your hair and on your wrist. Thanks for your feedback and for watching.
Maria O'Hara (3 months ago)
HI I dontunderstand the last step when you sew it together. Wont it sew the elastic to the fabric ?
Treasurie (3 months ago)
Hi Maria, do you mean when you sew it closed at the very end? Yes the elastic will be sewed under the fabric but just at this one spot. This won't affect how it stretches. Thanks for watching.

Do u really need to iron it or can u just leave it and continue with the next step
Treasurie (5 months ago)
No you can leave it unironed. It will just look puffier at the seam which can look nice. Also don't iron if you are using scraps of your lycra leotard fabric as it will melt.

To B Or Not To B (7 months ago)
so when you sew along the join at like 2:50 do you sew the elastic piece down too? Other than that, really helpful I love this tutorial!!! Thanks!
Treasurie (7 months ago)
Hi, yes the elastic is caught in underneath if you sew straight down. The alternative is to hand sew all the way around but this is much more work and it won't show in the hair anyway. Thanks for watching.
Christine Chantal (7 months ago)
This is probably a really dumb question but umm, Stitch... by hand, right? 😂🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
Treasurie (7 months ago)
Not at all dumb :) because yes you can. If you have a sewing machine then use a straight stitch with a 2.5 length. If you don't have a machine then handstitch using a backstitch. This is the strongest handstitch and is easy to do. Here is my video https://youtu.be/O7l2FVZL5ho on how to do this stitch.

Awesome video and so easy to follow! I can’t believe it got dislikes. Anyhow, I’ve already made a handful of them. Thank you for sharing this tutorial! 😊
enoxid (26 days ago)
If you sew the long seam first leaving 3-4 cm at each end you can then turn the scrunchie out, sew the short seam and insert the elastic and then finish sewing the long seam on the outside, enclosing but not sewing over the elastic! The elastic is also much more comfortable if you sew it together rather than knotting it....
Treasurie (11 months ago)
Haha, thank you very much! This was my first video so maybe I've improved! Thanks for watching.

Lo terminas cerrando a mano?
Treasurie (1 year ago)
Translation Do you end it by hand?" Yes. You can end it by hand or machine. If you do it by hand you can make the stitches invisible. But I like the machine method as it is much faster. Both work.

Treasurie (1 year ago)
Hi Ayo, I normally use quilting cotton. It comes in lots of pretty designs. Look for designs with small prints.
Guadalupe Escalante (1 year ago)
22 inches is too long! The usual is 16 inches long.
Treasurie (1 year ago)
Hi, you can certainly make a smaller one and just scale it down. The elastic gathers in the fabric so it looks much smaller than that. Small – Cut a piece of fabric 2.5 x 20 inches (6.5cm x 51cm) and elastic 8 inches. Otherwise, you can certainly cut one 16" and have less gathers. Regardless of the length of fabric, the method is the same. The sizing is just personal taste. The advantage of larger scrunchies is that you can wrap it around the hair a couple of times. Thanks for watching.
