Please give it a thumbs up below and/or leave a comment - Thank you!!! In this video I answer a question from one my readers who asked: "Hello , I have a food product idea that does not exist in the market, It uses an existing product as one of its ingredients but then with the addition of at least 4 more items turns into something else that has yet to be discovered, packaged & marketed. Obviously the producer of the main ingredient would be the ideal company to sell the idea/recipie to as they can easily use their production & packaging facilities to complete the new product. How would I approach them & protect my idea but still be able to tell them what it is ?? Any ideas ? Thanks"

I have a question. So, I have a product in the works that uses a specific kind of plastic/plastic bags that a wholesale business supplier makes. The plastic is to cook a food product and is one of 3 key components to my invention. I want to patent my idea but what I have been reading and watching on youtube is that you cant necessarily patent a "recipe" and the best way to protect yourself is to focus on the design. If the manufacturer already supplies other companies with their product, can it become part of my patent without having to license from them?

Thank you very much for your question and it would be great if you could post it under the comments of this video #7 Ways - What Topic Should I Cover Next? https://youtu.be/sXgcP79xrNQ so Evan might be able to answer it doing a #7Ways video for it or in another video especially if more people will vote or like your question. I have a new food product only weeks away from the first production run. I'm worried it could grow too quickly and could leave me struggling to keep up with supply. I'm worried a big chain might place a huge order before I'm financially ready for it. My current suppliers have credit applications we can fill out which may give us some room with them, but will they produce my product and wait until I get paid from a large retailer headquarters before I have to pay them? Any advice on credit float?
