What a good video!  I'm from London, and your accent was GODD!  a hint, we never say up the street, it's always up the road, amd we NEVER say British accent, it's ALWAYS either English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish. Yours was English, but southern English.  The northerners is different and some have remnants from Viking times still in them.

Happy to get some tips ;D

Oh mannnn! How do you always manage to scoot in just at the last second, never missing your train and having to spend the night in a very expensive city such as London???!!! I still cannot believe they put the tube running under the ocean between London and Paris!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps I am an old fuddy duddy (autocorrect didn't want me typing those two words)- but it still seems FUTURISTIC and impossible for this train I saw you and she ride on betwixt London and Paris to truly exist. I loved your whole trip except for the dept store right before getting to the train. Most people think we have been so many places for so many adventures (during the 42+ yrs I have been married to my dh & raised our son), but watching you I am in a hurry to see so much more! It is hard to get people to understand, now is the time, it can be done, traveling dreams are just waiting to become reality! Some people wait TOO LONG, and never realize their travel dreams, and end up saying "I didn't realize we could have gone to these places all along." It isn't just the places but the people you meet along the way (to me) that make those special memories and change who you are and how you see things in the world... At least, that is what I think :0 :) (Oh here I am 12/16/18 getting through your vlogs, this one from 3/23/17)

What time did you leave around and how long did it take you to get through some of the big stuff in London? Would you say it was worth the day trip? What time was your departure? Going to Paris next year and wondering if its worth going to do a day in London.

I’m not going to lie.. The “Do you have Google Maps?” comment took me out. 😂😂 That’s literally me every time a tourist asks where something is. He could’ve helped though.

I absolutely love your videos! I’m a Californian that just moved to the UK and I have been obsessively watching your videos for traveling tips in Europe. Your blogs are beautifully shot and a treat to watch. Thank you for all your hard work. Quick question what class (standard, standard premier?) did you travel in on the Euro Star?
Jay Swanson (7 months ago)
Thank you! And I'm pretty sure we were standard.

Aww man, too bad you had a British weather while visiting London 😩

We did the opposite! Ok, we tried but didn't. We didn't get to Paris because 1. I took too long to book the train to the point it became too expensive, 2. We missed our flight to Paris because I cut a little too close and the Gatwick train stopped due to an "incident", and I can say the guy that got the train shut down and his family had a much much much worse day than us. The good news is, excuse to go back to Europe, and it was 37 fricken degrees celsius on the day we were supposed to go and that could darnright kill Northern Canadians like us. I'm way behind on your vids. There are a lot. Like...a LOT.

Would you recommend taking a train or plane to Paris?
lovejaycakes (9 months ago)
Jay Swanson hmmm yeah that definitely helps! As long as I purchase it in advanced it’s definitely better tho right? Thank you for answering my question so fast btw
Jay Swanson (9 months ago)
The train is way easier - you go city center to city center and in the end it takes less time for that. Security is nicer and your ears don't need to pop as badly =) The main drawback to the train is that it's usually more expensive on the ticket price, but with additional transportation costs and the time taken, it might not be worth it. Hope that helps =)

I knew as soon as I saw the interior of that store in London and then she said she hated it, I was like oh she must be in Primark. Eh I have a love hate relationship with that place.
Jay Swanson (9 months ago)
It was intense in its own right, haha

did you do booking through like expedia or a travel site or through the actual site? I'm going to Paris but I want to do a day in London as well. any advice?
Jay Swanson (10 months ago)
I generally try to go to the source - service through sites like Expedia can be brutal

Your ‘British’ accent actually sounds South African. :p
Jay Swanson (1 year ago)
One of my favorite accents in the world =D
hauskalainen (1 year ago)
Your English accent is amazingly good. All credit to you.
Jay Swanson (1 year ago)
hauskalainen thanks!
Matt (1 year ago)
Your British accent is literally spot on I'm genuinely shocked, you'd 100% pass for a Londoner or resident of the South East of England with that
Tiah Cookieez (2 years ago)
Yes, do a Volg in French! I'm currently learning!😆 I'm in French 2😊
Jay Swanson (2 years ago)
I'm pretty intimidated by it, but I'll give it a try =D Keep on going with the French!
Jeff Beltran (2 years ago)
glad you a) grabbed a pint b) are safe really though i'm surprised you didn't have any issues traveling after that
Jay Swanson (2 years ago)
Yeah, they didn't lock anything down as far as we saw. Aside from the news, most everywhere people seemed pretty oblivious that something had gone down.
R C (2 years ago)
good British accent, but I like your American accent bettah
Jay Swanson (2 years ago)
I do pull off a pretty convincing American accent.
Nathan Dowd (2 years ago)
So glad your okay man. Super creepy that you were in that spot yesterday.
Jay Swanson (2 years ago)
In that exact spot, yeah. I'm gonna talk about it a little in today's vlog(tomorrow's upload). It didn't really hit me until I saw a graphic of where he ran his car. Exactly where we were 30min earlier.
David Cutter Music (2 years ago)
Dood, it's insane that you were on Westminster Bridge 6:16 yesterday!!
Jay Swanson (2 years ago)
Yeah - we crossed it, took a time lapse on the other side, and then got a text as we wandered under the Eye asking if we were ok from a friend who knew we were near Parliament. That was how we found out something was going on.
