Coconut Milk vs. Almond Milk vs. Soy Milk vs. Dairy Milk:
So lets find out which type of milk should be in your fridge and which should be in the garbage.
Milk Option #1: Dairy Milk
As babies, most of us were raised on human breast milk. Then we grew into a toddler and were weened off, and in many cases, given milk from a cow, also known as dairy milk, as a milk replacement.
Why did I stop drinking dairy milk? Not only did I find I was lactose intolerant, but I also finally clued in to the idea that nature intended dairy milk to be consumed by calves, not humans. Think about it, doesn't it seem unnatural to drink milk from another mammal? Human beings are the only species that drinks milk from another mammal.
Serving size: 1 cup of 2% dairy milk:
Carbohydrates: 12g (12g of sugar)
Dairy milk conclusion:
Due to the high amount of sugar, the lactose, and the unnatural idea of drinking another species milk, this carton of dairy milk is going in the garbage.
Milk Option #2: Soy Milk
Soy is not a health product. If you ask farmers which 2-3 feed options are best to fatten up their animals, it's soy, grains, and corn.
Soy is a highly genetically modified food that is heavily sprayed with pesticides. It also contains phytoestrogens that mimic estrogen in the body, the same way as BPAs do. In other words, soy can really mess up the hormones for both men and women.
Serving size: 1 cup of unsweetened soy milk (Silk brand):
Carbohydrates: 4g (1g of sugar)
Soy milk conclusion:
Since soy is a highly genetically modified food that is highly sprayed with pesticides, soy milk is going in the garbage too.
Milk Option #3: Almond Milk
Serving size: 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (Blue Diamond brand):
Carbohydrates: 1g (0g of sugar)
This small amount of calories is primarily made up of 3.5 grams of fat, which is primarily from healthy monounsaturated fats. Almond milk is also soy free and lactose free which is a benefit.
Almond milk conclusion:
A decent milk option that is low in calories and a healthy source of fats. Almond milk is going back in the fridge.
Milk Option #4: Coconut Milk
Serving size: 1 cup of unsweetened coconut milk (Silk brand from a carton):
Carbohydrates: 0g (0g of sugar)
The thing I like about coconut milk, is that it contains healthy, medium chained fatty acids. These medium chained fatty acids act as a great energy source as they are metabolized in the body as energy, rather than being stored as fat.
Coconut milk conclusion:
The main benefit of coconut milk is the healthy fats. Coconut milk is going back in the fridge.
Coconut Milk vs. Almond Milk vs. Soy Milk vs. Dairy Milk:
If I had to choose one out of all of these milk alternatives, I would go with coconut milk or almond milk.

YEAH,....Humans are the Only Species to utilize cow milk...is actually false info...Give Dogs or Cats or even a few other animals milk..they can’t get enough begging for more..I’ve never seen an Animal Milking a Cow..But if they could We would have a great SHORTAGE OF COW MILK.
What are you talking about? There are literally hundreds of videos right here on youtube showing mammals drinking milk from other species. Also, I wouldn't base my diet on what animals do. Dogs eat crap.
Cocunut milk is sweet and creamy, I wouldn’t drink it just as it is. I usually use coconut milk when cooking say rice, baked sweets, or oatmeal. It makes the most creamy delicious oatmeal ever! Almond milk I will use for like cereal. If you add it to cereal you won’t be able to distinguish the taste of it. I would not drink almond milk on its own either, cuz it taste too nutty to me. No matter if you get sweetened or not. And yea I personally don’t like the taste, so I don’t drink it on its own. I also use it for vegan Mac n cheese tho lol.
Something I’d like to add just because I used to love milk with cookies. I don’t like how the taste would be with almond or coconut milk is with cookies. So I opt all of that out, and instead eat my cookies with tea or coffee. Other than that drink water. I just wanted to cover the things I thought would be important for those that want to remove dairy from their diet. I initially wrote this as a reply to someone else but I think it could be helpful.
Is there any scientific reason besides the super-scientific reason of "its a little strange youre consuming milk that is not you or your mom" for not having dairy? I mean to me i dont care much for dairy milk. i can have it if i want to or i can live without it. im not lactose-intolerant so i can easily have it. i dont hate the taste, so again i can totally have milk. do i drink it regularly? no. do i want to? no. do i actively avoid it? also no. BUT... I know "its kind of strange to drink another mamal's milk" is the most scientific reasoning ever, even beyond mathematics, but i need all of you to do the impossible and push that reasoning a bit further and give me a super-scientific+ version of your reasoning why dairy milk should not be consumed. Literally every one has one reason to hate dairy milk and that is [in gay guy voice], "itss ssuper awkward... to drink another mamal's milk".
i mean the lack of seeing that nature, or in simple words, just because no other species does that, is not a reason for us. none of the species go to work either, should we stop having jobs? listen to how crazy and insane and just STUPID and shallow minded that sounds!
"you should not drink dairy milk because its strange"
that line is fucking shameful. i mean whomever says that should not call themselves intelligent being. We have a developed brain and thought process, capable of reasoning and empathy and logic. We can clear that fucking awful sentence with literally anything that doesnt sound like we have a sack of rocks in between our ears. almost all, dare to say actually all mamals dont walk on two feet. dont you think we should stop walking on our two feet? dont you think its kind of strange how we start crawling on all fours and then we start walking on two feet? we are the only species that does that. dont you think thats kind of strange? we should call up strange species associations and voice our concern. lets all jump on this intelligence-free, smarts-free band wagon and all go to idiot town where we hear things and keep repeating them because thats what we heard others say. yeah, lets promote that so we sound cool and up to date with the latest stupid order of words.
fucking bunch of idiots. im sorry for my kids and grand kids that are gonna have to live in this god awful under-educated society.
here is some words of blasphomy-by-your-kind's-thought-process, how about lets stop drinking dairy milk because it might contain more fat than we really need or willing to consume. or something that actually makes two cents of sense. something that an scholar would actually bother to even listen to. not that the topic of milk is even worth consideration in the first place.
animal milk is natural that God(Allah) provided us to drink. The only problem in usa is that
the animals are given hormones and other unnatural stuff, that is why its not good to drink or
even the meat is not natural to eat too much of it. :((((
people in the comments: you can drink cow's milk all you want, but to argue that we NEED to drink it is completely fallacious. there is absolutely NO biological need to have milk past the nursing stage of life. there is no counter-argument to that. milk is produced by any mammal specifically to nurse young, NEVER as a dietary supplement for adults. you don't need cow's milk! you never did! drink it if you want, but there's no reason to.
sorry brad, but i dont agree with you concerning dairy milk drinking because man has been drinking milk for thousands of years. animals like dogs ,cats and pigs drink milk when its available. in nature bats and othere animals drink milk from othere animals. the difference nowerdays is that shelf milk is highly toxic. its not raw and natural, but you can drink raw milk.
i want the nutritional value, not the sales pitch. I have been on levity for five years due to cancer. Stop bluffing and cut to the chase. I can no longer tolerate a mild base but others do deplete magnesium and cause multiple heart attacks. Help me put and cut to the chase!
in the massive dairy industry in the u.s., cows are kept in stalls where
they can only move a few inches back and forth, there's no way, that
every sick cow is attended to immediately. so, the cow is milked and
unfortunately, that pus/blood/sickness is milked out and processed.never
mind, that soy has phytoestrogens as do oats, barley, sesame seeds,
donuts, multigrain breads, and hummus, to name a few foods, that contain
the real issue is cows milk ,and the female hormones people are sucking up. female cows must be kept pregnant a substantial amount of time, to produce milk. those hormones, that keep these cows pregnant
and lactating (giving milk) are female hormones, also passed on in the milk, that people consume. maybe, that is the cause of the man boobs, or MOOBS, that can be a source of embarrassment to many men.
saturated fat found in coconut milk, is not "healthy" fat. have you ever seen crisco? that's what coconut looks like in the "oil" form. it's solid. that solid, saturated fat, sticks to your arteries. reason on that. maybe, you've been coerced into believing, that the saturated fat in coconut milk is "good for you," but just look at that canister of coconut oil, and a tub of lard, and tell me, you can't reason, that it's going to block up your arteries. they're both solid.
hey! i'm not here to argue, who doesn't love ice cream, cheese on their pizza, chocolate milk? heck, chocolate, in general for that matter. however, when we take a closer look, at what we're putting into our mouths, and the side effects, that we may encounter, we might want to find substitutes, such as, the different milks, that brad is reviewing. despite my opinion. i give this video a thumbs up, for presentation, and conviction.
if you're interested in more random thoughts, subscribe to my channel DONT BE A WIMP 101. =)
I came from the land of coconut: Kerala . My mother never allowed any of us to drink coconut milk. It is added in desserts, curries etc. I have not seen a single Ayurvedic doctors-recommends drinking coconut milk. There is nothinglike cow's milk with the right nutrient for humans. This is only money making business. Do not fall for this.
Why do some people repeat the same false statement that only humans drink other animals milk? That is not true. My mom's cat loves cow milk. Also puppies, rabbits drink it too. I have seen snakes licking like crazy goat milk spilled on the ground or even bitting the tits of a female donkey and a goat to suck the milk. I even remember a video on the internet with some african woman breastfeeding a puppy. Sorry, but when you start your video with such a joke-argument then dont expect to be taken seriously.
You don't drink milk from another species, but you eat their flesh..? Their meat that is causing so much environmental destruction to our planet, causing so much health issues and so much suffering to the animals... Try and watch the documentaries Forks over Knives, Conspiracy and Earthlings for a better picture.. :)
Here is my dilemma, heart issues seem to run in my family, therefore I am trying to look for heart healthy alternatives. You say coconut oil, however it is high in cholesterol which is a huge no no for especially someone who has heart issues. So would extra virgin olive oil be the best choice for me to use for cooking??? I am currently in medical school and love applying what I am learning.
hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for the coconut oil miracle try Niposcu Coconut Oil Adviser ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my buddy got cool success with it.
Sorry but you couldn't be more wrong about cow milk just for one reason: the fact that cows produce milk all the time! Not just while they are feeding their babys! This is a huge point! So asking " why would I drink milk that a cow produces to feed the newborn " is not just wrong. It's a thinking mistake. Don't say it again please
I'm so tired of people using the "We are the only mammal / species to do it." FYI we are the only species to do a lot of things, if you want to be a less intelligent species be my guest, otherwise adopt the scientific method before you speak out of your ass.
The real deal:
Cow Milk = Drank gallon a day for years. 1ft taller than everyone in my family. Builds muscle like crazy.
Soy Milk = Never drink it unless you want gyno.
Almond Milk = Started using it for protein shakes. Does not foam and bubble like Cow Milk when using industrial blender.
Coconut Milk = No. Yeah fat stores as energy, maybe. For most people it will just be added to your gut.
All have purposes but Cow Milk for muscles and Almond Milk for smoothies where you don't want a ton of foam. Silky taste.
Here''s my proof
milk causes feminizing effects and acne- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19496976
Soy has zero effects on testosterone- https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19524224
Soy has never been observed to have feminizing effects in men http://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(10)00368-7/abstract
Fiber reduces estrogen and increases testosterone https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3628202
LOL it's funny because milk literally has several times more estrogen than soy. You'd literally need to eat over a dozen servings of soy isolates to even have a detectable amount, and even then there isn't any proof that it acts the same as real estrogen. unlike the mammalian estrogen found in cows milk that take effect in literally minutes.
Not to mention soy products are generally consumed with high fiber, which helps reduce and excrete estrogen from the body.
The reason I don't drink almond milk is nuts like almonds have been linked to cause inflammation in the body, coconut milk does not. But coconut milk as a lot of saturated fat. I have noticed weight gain since switching to coconut milk.
What a bunch of crap. Milk is pasteurised to destroy bacteria that can cause diseases in humans. Bacteria that can cause brucellosis, tuberculosis and a lot more. Not to mention the E.coli and salmonella contamination. I can't believe you have so many subscribers. These were steps taken to IMPROVE quality of life. Read up before vomiting useless information.
+Stephen C That's not true. Read up on Mycobacterium bovis, aka bovine tuberculosis. Thats exactly how humans get infected. It's the cow that harbours the bacteria, and it's present even in the freshest milk possible if the cattle is infected.
awesome! I been drinking coconut milk for a while and now that I hear this. it makes me feel awesome lol. one thing about the water though. even though it's healthy, it's has all kinds of chemicals, it's low on alkaline which leads to bone cancer etc over time, so the best option it's to buy a good filtration system that filters water to an average of 7.0 alkaline or find out what water bottles meet those requirements.
I just bought organic coconut milk for the first time but on the ingredients it says it contains xanthan gum, selenium, between other things I don't recognize. Are these things even good for the body?? Please advise!!! I really enjoy your videos!! ;)
Trying to imply that because humans drive cars, it's normal to drink Milk from another animal. Lol did you know humans can be brainwashed and convinced to do things which might not be in their interest? Idiot.
How about this y'all! The next time you make a decision in your life, make sure it's your own! If you WANT to get a second opinion on health benefits or what's bad for you, then do that! If you don't, that's fine too! You only get one life so live it how you see fit. As long as you're not some sociopathic mass murderer that gets his/her thrills hearing the screams of innocent people as you rip up their insides with your bare hands and feed it to your pet cat Dutchess, then you're cool in my book.
And always remember, just because you made a decision in your life, doesn't mean you should convince everybody else to do the same. Happy hunting fuckers.
Thanks for the info. I think you explained your reasoning very good. My husband and I have been living a horrible lifestyle and we are making changes. I do want to add though that if necessary other mammals will feed off another that's is not the same species. Also we bought coconut milk and a plus to it is its very sweet. Helps curve off sugar cravings.
the ignorance and arrogance in the comments are ridiculous. Why can we not respect other individuals choices? Do not bitch about it, like milk? okay. Prefer a healthier & less processed alternative? okay. Everyone is entitled to their own choice. Do not force your choice. Do your Research, and know what you put in your body. Not just with milk but everything. You have one body, take care of it.
Interesting information,Even though I have to admit after drinking (fresh cows milk) and I mean basically warm and straight from a cow, that taste was so so different to what is purchased in a Supermarket. However I would like to ask the same as another on here, I have been informed that for health reasons, Wheat, oats etc is not healthy for my illness so does that mean that Oat Milk is also out of the question, also I can eat fresh almonds but anything and I mean anything flavored almond (liquor, sugar coated almonds, marzipan or almond extract for baking is so not the taste of a fresh almond) so I am wondering if purchasing Almond milk would it taste of Almonds, as I have been told that Almond flour has no resemblance of Almond flavor. Would rice milk be ok to heat for say a hot chocolate drink? As I am guessing heating milks we would have to be careful no?Any upto date answers on here would be very much appreciated. Thank you
Brad I 100 % disagree with your" it's unnatural to drink dairy milk", I mean you eat low fat greek yogurt, cottage or any other cheese etc, so where does those dairy products come from?? Coconuts?? No they come animals at the end of the day, also is it natural to eat meat?? Which I am sure you do, by the way I drink coconut milk mostly, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at low fat dairy products like milk either
Just because humans are are a species that does so doesn't mean it's "not natural". Humans are one of the few species that doesn't necessarily stop producing lactase, an enzyme that digests milk sugars. Even if humans were the only species to do so, which they aren't, it wouldn't be unnatural. But there are several species of bird and feline that have been observed drinking the milk of other species. Even with those errors in your argument addressed, whether or not something is natural is not a basis for whether something is a good or bad.
I've been on this diet for about a month and a half now and i've lost about 15 lbs. i drink almost a gallon and half of water EVERYDAY, but just yesterday i had a post workout shake with almond milk, one banana, strawberries, a little oat mean and a little cinnamon. Would you reccomend me keep drinking this? Or just STICK to water. ???
Btw i also drink all natural green tea
Why would you limit yourself to a certain type of milk where each of them has its own uses and benefits? Southeast asian cuisines aren't famous for nothing if it's not because of coconut milk. You won't have cheese on your pizza if dairy milk never exists. Soy milk and almond milk are very important source of protein for vegans and vegetarians. Just use those milk accordingly and such endless debate would cease.
F or 25 years we have provided deluxe wilderness outpost fishing trips from our Armstrong location into beautiful Wabakimi Provincial Park and surrounding lakes.
Yes, we take you where the fishing is extraordinary , but there is more than fishing. Yearly family gatherings sharing a wilderness experience in comfort. Father - son (or daughter) bonding trips or Husband and wife celebrating a second honeymoon with the added spectacular outpost fishing or `the buddy trips where the tall tales get taller.
Its a big time stress reliever! . how do you think about anything else when you are fighting a fish?
Greg and I had a great week. we caught over 1000 walleye. There were well over 200 in the slot size (>18"). This is the most large walleye that have ever been caught on a trip to whiteclay for me. The slot size protection is working. It seems that each trip has more large fish being caught. Our largest northern was 43". It was caught on a jig while walleye fishing.
Greg and I sent see what you missed letters to about a dozen folks. Hope that translates into a large group for next June. . Fran and I are looking forward to the August fishing trip .

Received your card. Congratulations on 25 Years! We speak often about the great times we had at Ogoki! A Tribute to you both!
Best Regards, Rich Craddock.
What a nice surprise to find your post card in my mail yesterday. Twenty-five years is a long time to do anything; much less a business like yours with all the uncertainties of weather, exchange-rates, two-country economies, etc. There is a reason why your business has survived and (hopefully) thrived. you do the wilderness fishing experience better than anyone in the outdoor sport vacation business.
Dear Judy and Paul,
Congratulations on 25 years. I have many fond memories of my time with Jack at Ogoki. Hope all is well with you.
. . . Nicole will take you on a guided tour!
This website will take you every step of the way for a worry free fishing vacation!
Let us introduce ourselves; Judy & Paul Boucher and family. Weve been doing this for 25 years and have learned a thing or two on how to take the worry out of the wilderness experience. Our staff will help you with anything you may not understand or solve any mechanical glitch right away. In short: we treat you like family!
Just a note to let you know our recent fishing junket to your Mojikit South Outpost.
Ive been coming to Armstrong area since 1972 and have probably flown in with 6-7 different outfitters over the years to numerous outposts. Your Mojikit South camp is clearly the nicest camp I have been to. The cabin is beautiful and roomy. Great kitchen and dining area. Beautiful screened in deck and outside porch overlooking the channel. Large chest freezer and a frig that actually keeps things cold. Screened in fishing cleaning house with running water. Bedrooms that are roomy. Vaulted ceiling the the cabin is a plus. The cabin is centrally located to both the lake and the Ogoki Reservoir.
The boats are the best that Ive ever experienced at an outpost. The inside bottoms consist of flat carpeted panels. easy to get in and out of. 1st time Ive fished an outpost with "dry" feet. The boats had comfortable swivel seats and 15 & 20 hp 4-stroke engines that worked great.
We will definitely be back. Everything about Ogoki Frontier was quality. My two grandchildren had the time of their lives, as did the other 2 members of our party. Thanks for the memories.
