契合高地的色系,完美诠释了强暴的主题,除了成衣本身的高度表达,还有模特的行为表现,一切都在表现着highland rape

The collection I fell head over heels with, after seeing it at textiles class at school, thus began my lifelong obsession with Lee Alexander McQueen.

It was a long vid, it was like a never ending nightmare. And I'm afraid to go to sleep.

McQueen: "People find my things sometimes aggressive. But I don't see it as aggressive. I see it as romantic, dealing with a dark side of personality. . . . I oscillate between life and death, happiness and sadness, good and evil. . . . I'm about what goes through people's minds, the stuff that people don't want to admit or face up to. The shows are about what's buried in people's psyches." . . . "Beauty can come from the strangest of places."

4:05 is that intentional?
Scroobily (3 months ago)
Very good question, Bolskeviki. The answer is yes. In a McQueen show, models are actresses. They're showing clothes, but also showing more. What you get from reading a book or watching a movie you can get from a McQueen show. In this instance, McQueen, of Scottish descent, is conveying the violent trauma that England inflicted on Scotland back in the 1700s (the "Highland Clearances"). This theme returns in the title of his remarkable collection "Widows of Culloden", A/W 2006. (Of course, no artwork has only one meaning. Art has an infinite number of meanings, depending on the commitment of the spectator: what you get out of art is contingent on the concentration you put into it. So the more a person comes to know about Alexander McQueen and his work, all the more mind-blowing his shows and collections become. Alexander McQueen was one of the great artists born in our era, and his death was a cataclysm: his untimely death robbed the world of so much potential beauty and inspiration.)

Alexander McQueen: "People were so unintelligent they thought this was about women being raped. 'Highland Rape' was about England's rape of Scotland." McQueen loved and respected women. If that were not the case, why would he have dedicated his entire working life to clothing them? Moreover, he spent his entire career creating garments to empower women: to add to their stature and confidence and power. Alexander McQueen was positioned on the forefront of women's rights. Alexander McQueen: "I want to be honest about the world that we live in, and sometimes my political persuasions come through in my work. . . . I want to empower women. I want people to be afraid of the women I dress."

I had the pleasure to model in this show ...we were asked by McQueen to act on the catwalk, like we’d been raped ...It was a metaphoric translation representing the influence behind the collection ..ie..the raping of Scotland by the English ..hope this helps your understanding....

A strikingly acute reflection, Laroling. I will condense your thought to the following: All art is therapeutic, if we want it to be.

I didn't know the man, but as I see it, there is Empowerment in pain and showing vulnerability. You can show rape, violation of women where people interpret it as vile mysogynist fodder, but I see it as the opposite. Especially if I've seen something that moved me and shocked me, if I reach into the macabre, I feel like I want to be a better person, and sometimes even lighten up and feel empowerment to do the opposite from what I just saw, spread some love rather than rape people in the butthole and chop off their heads or whatever.
These girl's are sexy period., they put the f,u in fun
