The MtG colors as political-economic philosophies: White = Authoritarians = Only I know what is good for you! So, NO BREAKING THE RULES!! OBEY ME AND LIKE IT!! Blue = Dystopians = Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Black = Free Market Capitalist = I would rather earn 1% off a hundred people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts. Red = Anarchists = Down with the man! Green = Libertarians = Social Darwinism, survival of the fittest.

Green: A lot of growth in land, life, creatures, you name it. Also 8/8 creature with trample. Green has some flying hate too. Blue: Stalling. Lots and lots of stalling. Doing all these things to make sure you win before your opponent. Also lots of flying. Red: Lots of chaos. Not much else to say about red except red is best if you want to kill your opponent in the simplest way possible, by throwing creatures at them. Sometimes literally check out fling. Black: Almost similar to blue but without the counter spells. Also there is a lot of self harm to do certain things. White: Mostly either stopping or redoing damage. Have a lot of lifelink.

I'm on a mix of Blue and Green... I love nature but I am also curious and want to know about everything. I want to be one with my environment and I also treasure knowledge. I believe it's a good mix of knowledgge and power.

I have an old Wrath of God card which destroys all creatures and an Armaggedon card which destroys all lands. I do well with black and blue in combination myself.

Wizards: How do you win a game? White: oh, that's easy. Make a bunch of shit creatures, but together that are less shit Green: ok great, but we're going to make GOOD creatures Black: Wow, you guys are so uncreative. Who said we couldn't go digging through the graveyard for bodies? Red: How bout I just... blast everything Blue: How bout... I say no

I've recently been introduced to magic with the "Goblins Vs Merfolk" deck, and red is probably my favourite color right now. I really like the strategy of building up a huge game ending combo but having to get it right the first time.

I think you should add that Red is chaos. It is chaos first and foremost, it is definitely a passion driven color but it is the opposite of White. Red will take what it wants, it will do what it wants and it will act how it wants, it is by far the most chaotic of the colors, and I don't think you touched on that enough.
Think Tank (3 months ago)
This was great. You explained each color quickly and really accurately.

When I started MTG, I picked Black as my color (tho I later upgraded to B/G), mostly because its gameplay is the most fun for me. I also thought Black is the color least like me - I can basically identify myself with several aspects of any color, but only pragmatism was something I felt like I have in common with Black. I was never selfish, I can often settle for the "least" and I always take others in consideration when I act. Income the color pie and then it struck me - Black is about ambition, determination, clarity of your goal and getting to it, not bothering with distractions or unnecessary consideration of others. And, in its own way, it's also about valuing (and loving) yourself. Those are all things I'm struggling with in my life and all things I am trying to learn. And when I picked a main color to play, I picked Black. I'm sure this is a coincidence... but goddamn it doesn't feel like a coincidence. The game truly is Magic.

If you read the books, players misunderstand white, white are controlling ass holes, they are always trying to conquer other colors

A start??
Zero Ace (9 months ago)
So to summarize, White is focused on swarming and Zerg Rushing, Blue is focused on the grind game, Black is about as directionless as Arcana Force in Yugioh (A bunch of random effects ranging from mere stat boosts to skipping the opponent's turn depending on a coin toss, with Tails always fucking you over in some fashion), Red tends to OTK out the ass but once you start losing card advantage your opponent would have to have a literal heart attack for you to get it back, and Green is focused on beating but has no spot removal, right?
madhatten00 (8 months ago)
true; it depends on what the card's drawback is but generally black cards have some form of limitation that stops them from allowing you to take over too quickly compared to a deck of another color when i mean cost for mana; i mean like in comparison to white or red cards when you're talking about cards that deal direct damage or destroy things on the field white's main drawback is their destroyers either destroy everything or only work on "attacking or blocking" creatures; but their mana total for these cards would be lower ie. 3 compared 4; that kind of thing but yeah if the black card already includes something like deal 2 damage to yourself; then yeah it would have the same mana cost as a card in another deck color for the same effect generally
Zero Ace (8 months ago)
Well if you have to pay life, that's basically no cost
madhatten00 (8 months ago)
Zero Ace Basically. But I wouldn't say black is directionaless. It's the one that aspires to be great at everything allowing it to play in almost any style though the weakness being you sacrifice a lot in exchange ie. Through self inflicted damage, higher Mana costs for effects that would've been at a lower cost in another color, etc.

Haruhi Suzumiya (1 year ago)
My idea of a mana charge is for a electrical color/clan to require a higher power but high cost. The effects would be based on charge (amps) or counters, to create a charge then the units would be capable to destroy the opponent the green is mana cost, they charge but they are consistent. They both charge faster but green is numbers, whereas electric are capable of devastating discharge
Schitz (1 year ago)
Something to keep in mind is even Black can be the hero and White can be the villain, Black can instead of being selfish be individualism, while White is almost like the USSR where if you fall out of line the machine "takes care of you". Blacks lack of regard for itself like all interpretations for magic has a duality meaning where it can be either so greedy it doesn't realize it's destroying it self or doing anything even self sacrifice to do what it sees as right, ironically a lot of typical heroes would be Black/Red which is typically affiliated with demons and ultimate destruction.

I am red. Impulsive, passionate and free. Maybe a little green too, as I think it's important to let everyone just be themselves and make their own decisions instead of thwarting the plans of others. I'm gonna rebuild my deck around this idea.
ExtremelyOffensive (1 year ago)
I can describe green with one combo Living Wall + Rot Shambler Living wall costs 4 generic and is a 0/6 which can be regenerated for 1 generic Rot Shambler costs 1 green and 1 generic and gets a +1/+1 counter every time a creature dies under your control Sac living wall regen for 1 generic Rot Shambler's power and toughness increase by your total mana every turn 225/225 rot shambler 0_0
