Please like share and subscribe to TrekTrendy for more worldwide travel vlogs: http://bit.ly/1WNqym8 In December, my mate Tom and I decided to follow the trend of TrekTrendy day trips (I was in Marrakech the previous weekend for the day) and took one of the new Eurostar trains from London St Pancras over to Paris. We arrived about 11 and were departing on the 9pm train back to London, so had a full day to sightsee, and lap up the pre Christmas atmosphere. We checked out the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Galeries Lafayette, the Arc De Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and finished with a spectacular night time view of the Eiffel tower. It was a packed day, so come along for the trip. Do let me know what you think, we had great fun filming this one, and also if you like the day trip format, considering a few more of these for 2017. Thanks guys.

I write science-fiction and fantasy, vlog daily, and love pizza a little too much. Links below to Amazon are affiliate links - meaning if you click through them and buy something, I'll get some pennies. Thanks! (The FTC wants me to tell you that up front) FAQ: How long have you lived in France? On and off for over two years. What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a "Draw My Life" video that explains a lot here: https://youtu.be/-MrvL37jTKM Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing). What do you film with? - I currently film almost exclusively with my Samsung Galaxy S8: http://amzn.to/2lPKSpZ How do you get those shots where you're walking or running? - A Joby Gorillapod for smartphones, like this: http://amzn.to/2sXNIL3 You drop your phone a lot, how does it survive? - THIS CASE IS AMAZING: http://amzn.to/2hoxgTA (Galaxy S7) - http://amzn.to/2Dt08Bu (Galaxy S8) - http://amzn.to/2FxVliP (iPhone) What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school. Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do. Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here: https://youtu.be/4Vivf6MqMxQ But what are you doing there? - Living it up! https://youtu.be/ZW2RP--DO8Y Do you speak French? Oui. https://youtu.be/va1QjaHgij8 You talk a lot about the books you're working on, what are they about? - They're sci-fi (and fantasy) and I've got a decent pitch for you here: https://youtu.be/W2bKt4_Tp4E Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, no. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly. I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $1/mo to help me make better videos: http://patreon.com/jayswanson I don't trust this Patreon thing - what's your PayPal? - Here's a handy link! https://www.paypal.me/jayswanson I like PayPal in pink! - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game): https://ko-fi.com/jayswanson But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. This is the US one: http://amzn.to/2ykS9Ux And here's the French one: http://bit.ly/JaysFrenchWishList Can I come stay with you in Paris? - Have you seen my apartment? Check out more of our drone shots here: https://bit.ly/2SO2Zw3 Come explore Fontainebleau township, Fontainebleau Castle and Forest with me on a day trip away from Paris! Short but oh-so sweet! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📷See more of my daily life on Instagram: _notevenfrench 🐸JOIN THE FRANCOPHILES on Patreon: https://bit.ly/2HAC3uG 💎SHOP NOW at Francophile Designs: https://rdbl.co/2qxn6Ce ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How do you get there? If you want to get to Fontainebleau from Paris by public transport, take a Transilien train from Gare de Lyon heading towards Migennes, Montargis or Montereau. You want to get off at Fontainebleau-Avon (normally the first, second or third stop), and the journey should take around 40 minutes. Trains run between every 20 and 90 minutes and the ticket costs 8.85€ each way, unless you have a Navigo or five-zone Paris Visite card. Once at the station, you can head directly into the forest or take Bus 1 in the direction of Les Lilas to the Château de Fontainebleau, which will take about 15 minutes. You can also walk the three kilometers into the town in under 40 minutes. Fresh air fills your lungs on arriving in the classy town of Fontainebleau. It’s enveloped by the 280 sq km Forêt de Fontainebleau, which is as big a playground today as it was in the 16th century, with superb walking and rock-climbing opportunities. Situated 68km southeast of Paris, the town grew up around its magnificent château, one of the most beautifully decorated and furnished in France. What is there to see? The Château de Fontainebleau is, of course, at the top of most people’s list of things to see in this town 55 km southeast of Paris. Its 1,500 rooms, including Marie Antoinette’s Turkish boudoir and Napoleon III’s lavish theater, have been preserved or immaculately restored in recent years. Set within 130 acres of formal gardens and parkland, this UNESCO World Heritage Site lives up to and exceeds expectations. It is a monument depicting the whole of French culture in (relative) miniature. The palace and the town are surrounded by the Forêt de Fontainebleau. The 25,000 hectares of woodland contain 1,600 km of walking trails, great spots for bouldering, hiking and horse riding, and amazing biodiversity, including its own endemic tree species. If it’s your kind of thing, you can also visit the grave of Katherine Mansfield — the prominent modernist short story writer from New Zealand — in the local cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIDEO NOTES ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FREE STUFF AirBnB travel credit (25€ or equivalent): http://bit.ly/2yTkCAH LIFE IN FRANCE BOOKS * Best French Grammar book that I've found: http://amzn.to/2g511py * Best on French parenting, Bringing up bébé: http://amzn.to/2xORnz1 * Best on multicultural workplaces: http://amzn.to/2fEU9hQ * Favourite fiction read, Almost French: http://amzn.to/2xOdbKZ MY CAMERA: https://amzn.to/2H0m3oF MY DRONE: https://amzn.to/2rhIzP6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You can join me, Rosie, for even more adventures on Not Even French! We find that eating out is one of the most expensive parts of travel. so if you can cook yourself a nice romantic dinner in with a bottle of fine wine from the Carfourre, you're going to save a lot of money When in Paris, make sure to take advantage of free tours, they're all over the place and it's a great way to learn about the history of Paris. Many museums in Paris offer free days, once a month, like the Museé D'Orsay here. On the first Sunday of every month, you can get in for free. Be sure to check and see when museums have discounts on certain days of the week where you can get in for the last couple of hours for a fraction of the price. When you're in Paris be sure to take advantage of the free churches like Notre Dame. They're absolutely beautiful inside and they're free! I'm on the steps of Sacre Couer in Mont Martre, and it's the best view of Paris, save for the Eiffel Tower or Monteparnasse, but this view is free. Choosing the right disctrict to stay in can save you a lot of money. This studio in Montmartre starts at 49 Euro a night. So another great budget tip in Paris is head down to your local Fanprix or Carfourre, grab yourself some meats, cheeses and baguettes, and head somewhere to have yourself a great picnic. When you do decide to eat out in Paris, make sure to hit the Latin Quarter, you can get a 3 course meal for under €20. Here's a tip to help you save money, whenever you see the emblem of Paris on a museum, it means it's free. Here's a great site in Paris that you can see for free! Instead of taking taxis or tourist busses, take the metro instead. Paris has an extensive system and it stops at all the major sites. There is so much that you can do for free in Paris, be it walking through the cemeteries of Monteparnasse and Pere la Chaise to visit the famous residents, to taking advantage of watching the talented musicians and artists performing in the streets. You don't need to go inside to witness beautiful art in Paris. The city itself is a living work of art.

After a solid 4.5 hours sleep, we woke up and headed from Paris to Mont Saint Michel in Normandy by train. It looked like a castle on the hill, and spent the entire day running up 13592793759 stairs to get to the top (which you couldn't actually get to). ------------------------------------- * Subscribe for updates: https://www.youtube.com/coffeecashmere?sub_confirmation=1 paris vlog travel vlog paris france travel blog tourism daily vlog travel diary mont saint-michel

http://www.expedia.com/Paris.d179898.Destination-Travel-Guides Paris, the capital of France, attracts 42 million visitors a year. You can start your Paris tour on the metro, on foot, or with a taxi or bicycle; the city is easily navigable on all fronts. Visit the Arc de Triomphe in the center of the city and marvel at its graceful lines and commanding presence. Built between 1806 and 1836, the Arc is one of a number of historical arches and landmarks peppering Paris. If your Paris sightseeing includes purchasing souvenirs, head to the Champs-Élysées, home of boutique shopping, numerous restaurants, and many bars, along with a theatre and other entertaining venues. Learn about culture and creativity at the Louvre, a 14th-century palace turned art museum, and check in on the Mona Lisa and her mysterious smile. Notre Dame Cathedral cannot be missed, as this imposing Gothic structure has stood since 1345. Speaking of imposing, the Eiffel Tower is most frequently used to represent Paris. Stroll beneath it to get a good idea of its height, or travel to the top for a stunning view of the City of Light. As the semester begins to reach a close, I realized just how many days off that I let go to waste. I decided that a cancelled class on Thursday was a sign from God himself, and booked a day trip to Paris solely for the pictures and views of the Eiffel Tower. I'm in love with this city, and hope to make a return at least one more time before I go back to the United States! #DISTANTLANDS #daytripparis #Giverny http://www.distantlands.com One of the most iconic images of Impressionist art is Claude Monet’s Water Lilies series. You can see some of the famous paintings in the Orangerie Museum in Paris, but why not visit the actual gardens that inspired the paintings? Monet’s House and Gardens in Giverny are an easy and pleasant day trip from Paris. The village of Giverny is nestled in the Normandy countryside, about 50 miles northwest of Paris. The easiest way to get there is by train, and the journey takes a little over an hour – 45 minutes on the train to Vernon, and another 20 minutes for the shuttle to Giverny.

London Vlog 2018 #18. It's time to travel from London to Paris on the Eurostar for my not-so-surprise birthday trip vlog! Mark and I haven't been to Paris since 2010 and we're so excited to be going back for the first time in years! We're staying in a really cool Air BnB in the St. Denis area, which Mark chose himself... he didn't do half bad! We then went on to find that Paris caters AMAZINGLY for gluten free AND dairy free (or sans gluten and sans lactose en Francais). I'm gonna do a few Parisian vlogs whilst we're here so I hope you all enjoy! Lyon is a diverse place which offers a lot: great food, historical heritage, modern architecture and exceptional events. After crossing the pedestrian bridge from Quai Saint-Antoine to the Palais de Justice you will see this amazing statue. Somewhat ordinary, at first glance...a man standing carries another, inanimate in his arms. Closer inspection reveals that both individuals are identical! There is an opportunity for much introspection 0:33...Whether by funicular 3:47 or by tram, on foot or in a car, a visit up to La Notre-Dame de Fourvière, Our Lady of Fourvière, is an absolute must when visiting the wonderful city of Lyon, 3:47. The famous church was designed by Pierre Bossan in the mid-late 1800s, in a Romanesque and Byzantine architectural style which was quite unique for the time. Well worth seeing. There is also a amazing view of the city from the church, 4:57. Now, a little bit about Lyon lifestyle...what I love most about Lyon is the original and authentic French feel and the food. Lyon is known as the gastronomic capital of France. You can't visit Lyon without popping by an authentic "bouchon lyonnais". Bouchons 2:34 are traditional eateries in a family atmosphere, often run by a family. This is the absolute must-do. Bouchons as located in the old part of the town, in Vieux Lyon on the bank of the La Saone River. A great place to wander, soak up the atmosphere and relax. A little history about the bouchons...Lyon first made its mark on the French culinary scene in the 19th century, when the city was the center of the booming silk industry. Hungry silk workers clustered in tiny bistros, called “bouchons” to consume the robust, cheap meal, but good meal necessary to carry them through their 18 hour work days. Then, bouchons were bare-bones, family-run establishments, lacking in style and décor but infused with a welcoming, home-style atmosphere. Lyon is known for its dishes of sausage 1:31. My personal favorite is the “gratin dauphinois”, 1:21 sliced potatoes cooked in the oven with cream and grated cheese. Enjoy! À Suivre

In October 2014 I took a round rail trip to Avignon from Paris Gare de Lyon station. I took the 0711 direct service to Avignon, and returned in Paris by 9pm. Avignon is a beautiful interesting city to visit as one of the major cities in the Provence, South of France. Historically, Avignon was the centre of the Christian world (Like the present Rome), with the Palais Des Papes pay homeage for 9 Popes. It is the major tourist attraction for the city, apart from the famous bridge Pont d'Avignon of St Benezet. The weather was the typical very windy day and firtunately, it was also sunny.

The fourth episode of #TheDayTrip show takes us to a whole new country as we take a train from Paris to Luxembourg. In this episode, we will be exploring #LuxembourgCity. Is it possible to explore an entire country in a day? Depends on the country and your choices. As always, we skipped the many museums & explored outdoors of Luxembourg. After filling our stomachs with some pizza, we walked around Luxembourg City followed by a hike to the most beautiful balcony in Europe-Corniche, Luxembourg. This was an interesting hike with lots of picturesque views to explore on our Luxembourg city tour. We were just beginning to have fun when the day was over and it was time to head back! Check out the complete series of events from our day trip to Luxembourg. #TuneInToWCN to watch The Day Trip Show, a show in which we take day trip from popular cities to smaller towns, cities and countries and explore them within the day! Originally made in September of 2004, this video made a brief appearance on YouTube before being pulled due to the U2 song. Since Warner music has again allowed U2 songs to appear on YouTube, the video is back. The video was later used in our training department and shown at 'career days' around the country. It depicts a typical three-day trip from the perspective of the co-pilot.

I hope you enjoy the ride! If you are looking for a Versailles tour with a unique spin, I would 100% recommend. Upon arrival in the town of Versailles, we rode to the famous city market to shop for our picnic supplies. We bought meat, cheese, bead, hummus, French pastries, fresh raspberries... all the essentials! We then cruised through the Château's enormous grounds along a network of fantastic trails and tree-lined paths, pausing along the way to share the rich history of the palace and French monarchy. I loved learning more about Marie Antoinette and the scandalous French monarchy! Next we had our picnic at the end of the Grand Canal. Life doesn't get much better than this! After lunch, we continued through the grounds to visit Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and the Petit Trianon. Finally, our bike tour offered us skip-the-line access to the Château to avoid the tremendously long lines. You see the room where Marie Antoinette’s guards were killed as they protected her from the mob at the beginning of the Revolution. You walk through the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors where King Louis greeted guests, and centuries later the Treaty of Versailles was signed to end World War I. By using the bike you explore exponentially more of the 2,000+ acres of royal property than you would ever be able to see on your own. This amazing Palace of Versailles tour is a wonderful day trip from Paris. If you are looking for a unique way to visit Versailles Palace or just want to avoid that feeling of frustration that you barely covered the palace of Versailles garden then I definitely recommend this tour to you! ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ 📌 VIDEO NOTES 📌 ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ FREE STUFF 🎁 AirBnB travel credit (25€ or equivalent): http://bit.ly/2yTkCAH CHECK OUT MY FAVOURITES: https://amzn.to/2M9ioYe * Best books to learn French * Favourite reads on life in France & French culture * Youtube gear (camera set up, drone...) * Travel essentials & more If you're awesome and wish to help me subtitle my videos, please go here: https://bit.ly/2m9vTId ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ You can join me, Rosie, for even more adventures on Not Even French!
