PARIS DAY TRIP TO FONTAINEBLEAU | One of the best day trips from Paris 👌
Check out more of our drone shots here: https://bit.ly/2SO2Zw3 Come explore Fontainebleau township, Fontainebleau Castle and Forest with me on a day trip away from Paris! Short but oh-so sweet! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 📷See more of my daily life on Instagram: _notevenfrench 🐸JOIN THE FRANCOPHILES on Patreon: https://bit.ly/2HAC3uG 💎SHOP NOW at Francophile Designs: https://rdbl.co/2qxn6Ce ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How do you get there? If you want to get to Fontainebleau from Paris by public transport, take a Transilien train from Gare de Lyon heading towards Migennes, Montargis or Montereau. You want to get off at Fontainebleau-Avon (normally the first, second or third stop), and the journey should take around 40 minutes. Trains run between every 20 and 90 minutes and the ticket costs 8.85€ each way, unless you have a Navigo or five-zone Paris Visite card. Once at the station, you can head directly into the forest or take Bus 1 in the direction of Les Lilas to the Château de Fontainebleau, which will take about 15 minutes. You can also walk the three kilometers into the town in under 40 minutes. Fresh air fills your lungs on arriving in the classy town of Fontainebleau. It’s enveloped by the 280 sq km Forêt de Fontainebleau, which is as big a playground today as it was in the 16th century, with superb walking and rock-climbing opportunities. Situated 68km southeast of Paris, the town grew up around its magnificent château, one of the most beautifully decorated and furnished in France. What is there to see? The Château de Fontainebleau is, of course, at the top of most people’s list of things to see in this town 55 km southeast of Paris. Its 1,500 rooms, including Marie Antoinette’s Turkish boudoir and Napoleon III’s lavish theater, have been preserved or immaculately restored in recent years. Set within 130 acres of formal gardens and parkland, this UNESCO World Heritage Site lives up to and exceeds expectations. It is a monument depicting the whole of French culture in (relative) miniature. The palace and the town are surrounded by the Forêt de Fontainebleau. The 25,000 hectares of woodland contain 1,600 km of walking trails, great spots for bouldering, hiking and horse riding, and amazing biodiversity, including its own endemic tree species. If it’s your kind of thing, you can also visit the grave of Katherine Mansfield — the prominent modernist short story writer from New Zealand — in the local cemetery. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VIDEO NOTES ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FREE STUFF AirBnB travel credit (25€ or equivalent): http://bit.ly/2yTkCAH LIFE IN FRANCE BOOKS * Best French Grammar book that I've found: http://amzn.to/2g511py * Best on French parenting, Bringing up bébé: http://amzn.to/2xORnz1 * Best on multicultural workplaces: http://amzn.to/2fEU9hQ * Favourite fiction read, Almost French: http://amzn.to/2xOdbKZ MY CAMERA: https://amzn.to/2H0m3oF MY DRONE: https://amzn.to/2rhIzP6 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You can join me, Rosie, for even more adventures on Not Even French! A Day In The Life: London to Paris on the Eurostar 😍 Air BnB tour | Becky Excell
London Vlog 2018 #18. It's time to travel from London to Paris on the Eurostar for my not-so-surprise birthday trip vlog! Mark and I haven't been to Paris since 2010 and we're so excited to be going back for the first time in years! We're staying in a really cool Air BnB in the St. Denis area, which Mark chose himself... he didn't do half bad! We then went on to find that Paris caters AMAZINGLY for gluten free AND dairy free (or sans gluten and sans lactose en Francais). I'm gonna do a few Parisian vlogs whilst we're here so I hope you all enjoy! Paris One Day Tour Tips
#Paris #Tour Paris One Day Tour Tips Paris is the capital and most populous city of France, with an area of 105 square kilometres. The city's top tourist attraction was the Notre Dame Cathedral, which welcomed an estimated 12,000,000 visitors in 2017. Second was the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur on Montmartre, with an estimated 11 million visitors. This was followed by the Louvre Museum (8.02 million visitors); the Eiffel Tower (6.2 million); Centre Pompidou (3.3 million visitors). The banks of the Seine from the Pont de Sully to the Pont d'Iéna have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. Paris has more recognisable monuments than any other city in the world, but its tree-shaded boulevards, romantic bridges illuminated by wrought-iron lamps and wicker chair-lined café terraces all have a timeless familiarity too. There is so much of it to explore; however, if you only have one day in Paris, here’s the best way to maximise your time. 09:00 Start your morning on the southern bank of the Seine, and observe the 360-degree panorama of Paris’ most famous sights from Place de la Concorde. Paris spreads out around you, with views of the Eiffel Tower, the Seine and along the Champs-Élysées. Its 3300-year-old pink granite obelisk was a gift from Egypt in 1831. In 1793, Louis XVI’s head was lopped off by a guillotine set up in the northwest corner of the square near the statue representing the city of Brest. During the next two years, another guillotine – this one near the entrance to the Jardin des Tuileries – was used to behead 1343 more people, including Marie-Antoinette and, six months later, the Revolutionary leader Danton. Paris lives up to the hype. The elegant boulevards, iconic architecture, beautiful parks, and delicious food really do make this a magical city and one we never tire of exploring. Even if you only have one day in Paris (perhaps on a London to Paris day trip), you can still see (and eat) a lot. If you just want to feel like a Parisian for the day and soak up some of the City of Lights' unique ambiance, spend some time getting to know a particular area.If you've arrived by Eurostar, hilly Montmatre should be your first stop to really make you feel like you've arrived in Paris - it's only a 20 minute walk (or you can jump on the furnicular or train and bypass the steps up to the Sacré-Cœur) away for the best views across the city. The area feels like proper Paris (Amélie was filmed here). It's all windy, cobbled streets, lampost-lined plazas - all with a genteel shabby chic atmosphere. It even has a small vineyard - Clos Montmatre. Going to Paris for just for one day might seem like a stretch, but it's actually a quick journey, and well worth the early start. In fact, if you take the first Eurostar out and the last one back, you've got just over eleven hours to take in the sights of Paris. With some of the most famous landmarks in the world, amazing food and effortless chic, there's a lot to try, see, eat and drink. We've put together a guide of some of the best things to do in Paris if you're only there for a day. Although if you wanted to stay for longer than that - we wouldn't blame you. Itinerary | Paris neighbourhoods | Landmarks | Shopping | Eating out | Drinking | Culture | Parks | Film locations | Getting around | Paris map | Weather | Eurostar What to do in just one day 1. Tick off some famous landmarks. Start with the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur in Montmatre (see neighbourhood guide below). The highest point in Paris, you can see the beautiful city spread out in front of you.Head back down the hill and jump on the Metro down to the L'Arc de Triomphe and see the famous Avenue des Champs Élysées stretching out.You can either walk down the boulevard to the Place de la Concorde for fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower (while checking out the shops), or jump straight back on the tube and head straight to the iconic landmark itself. After lunch take a boat trip down the Seine and jump off at either Notre-Dame or the Louvre and maybe visit the world's most iconic painting. You're now in the heart of Paris, close by to some of the major museums, parks and landmarks.Take a walk around the historic streets of nearby Le Marais (see below) and have a leisurely dinner, before wandering back up to Gare du Nord to get your train back home. One thing to remember, a lot of the major attractions may have large queues at busy times of the day or at peak holidays, so be sure to factor that in or book ahead if you're just there for the day. Eifel Tower One of the most recognisable structures in the world, it still dominates the Paris skyline more than a 125 years after it was built. If you're a first-time visitor, make time for a photo here.To climb the 324m tower, tours start at 9.30am with the last ones going until midnight in the summer - but book in advance as this is the most visited, paid for, monument in the world.

We landed in Paris for our anniversary on July 3 before heading to Croatia and made a quick stop to explore and enjoy the city of love. I was pretty sick the first day we landed (and it took me a while to get in my groove). We were also capturing content for work so this vlog is shorter. We walked all over Paris seeing all of it's beauty: Pont Alexandre III Bridge, Notre Dame Church, the cutest cafes/bistros: my favourite was Cafe de Flore (order the club sandwich), Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre, Place du Trocadero, the Louvre, Place des Vosges and more! This vlog highlights some of those places along the way. I truly can't wait to show you guys Croatia in the next video coming soon!! Lyon, a day trip from Paris. Lifestyle, food, family, and the art of Joie de Vivre.
Paris-Lyon as a same day side trip is a great idea! Lyon is the capital of the Rhone-Alpes region and the third largest city in France. Lyon is a diverse place which offers a lot: great food, historical heritage, modern architecture and exceptional events. After crossing the pedestrian bridge from Quai Saint-Antoine to the Palais de Justice you will see this amazing statue. Somewhat ordinary, at first glance...a man standing carries another, inanimate in his arms. Closer inspection reveals that both individuals are identical! There is an opportunity for much introspection 0:33...Whether by funicular 3:47 or by tram, on foot or in a car, a visit up to La Notre-Dame de Fourvière, Our Lady of Fourvière, is an absolute must when visiting the wonderful city of Lyon, 3:47. The famous church was designed by Pierre Bossan in the mid-late 1800s, in a Romanesque and Byzantine architectural style which was quite unique for the time. Well worth seeing. There is also a amazing view of the city from the church, 4:57. Now, a little bit about Lyon lifestyle...what I love most about Lyon is the original and authentic French feel and the food. Lyon is known as the gastronomic capital of France. You can't visit Lyon without popping by an authentic "bouchon lyonnais". Bouchons 2:34 are traditional eateries in a family atmosphere, often run by a family. This is the absolute must-do. Bouchons as located in the old part of the town, in Vieux Lyon on the bank of the La Saone River. A great place to wander, soak up the atmosphere and relax. A little history about the bouchons...Lyon first made its mark on the French culinary scene in the 19th century, when the city was the center of the booming silk industry. Hungry silk workers clustered in tiny bistros, called “bouchons” to consume the robust, cheap meal, but good meal necessary to carry them through their 18 hour work days. Then, bouchons were bare-bones, family-run establishments, lacking in style and décor but infused with a welcoming, home-style atmosphere. Lyon is known for its dishes of sausage 1:31. My personal favorite is the “gratin dauphinois”, 1:21 sliced potatoes cooked in the oven with cream and grated cheese. Enjoy! À Suivre

Day 4 & 5 in Paris: A Million Steps at Palace of Versailles & Sacre Coeur
Herroooo! So this vlog is day 4 & 5 of the adventures in Paris. We took a day trip to the Palace of Versaille and frolicked around the HUUUUGGEEE plains that are Les Jardins, or the gardens. It took about 3 hours wandering though and we still didn't fit everything in in time! Then the next day we had a chill day because the lack of sleep was starting to catch up to us hahah, plus had a bunch of editing that had to be done. But the main attraction that day was having lunch at L'agape, which was a Michelin star restaurant, but I didn't get any footage of that because we were too busy eating hahah. The hike at Sacre Coeur was NO JOKE. By far the most physically demanding. It was actually like a legit hike to get up on to the top, but it was so worth it! So hope you enjoy the vlog! :) ================ Subscribe for updates: ➡️ http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCte0U3aHU2qOeuuctez4TVA?sub_confirmation=1 france tourisme parisian versailles paris travel coffee and cashmere travel vlog 2018 walking tour solo travel

Chartres, France: A Day Trip from Paris
#distantlands #chartrescathedral #daytripParis http://www.distantlands.com The Chartres Cathedral is probably the finest example of French Gothic architecture and said by some to be the most beautiful cathedral in France. Its spiritual intensity is heightened by the fact that no direct light enters the building. All the light is filtered through Chartres blue stained glass, so that the whole experience of visiting the Chartres Cathedral seems out of this world. How can you see this architectural treasure for yourself? Here are step by step instructions on how to get to Chartres from Paris by train. Information on Malcolm Miller's tours from the Chartres Cathedral website: Malcolm MILLER'S Chartres Cathedral lecture-tours are : • from Easter until the end of October at 12 noon and 2.45 p.m. , but not on Sundays or if there is a religious ceremony. • No reservations are needed, and the meeting-point is inside the cathedral at the entry to the gift-shop in the north tower. • from November until Easter only one lecture is given at 12 noon, if there are 8 or more participants, and if Mr. MILLER is in residence. • Private tours with Mr. MILLER can also be arranged by e-mail : [email protected] • or telephone +33 (0) 237 28 15 58 For more information on Chartres en Lumieres, please visit https://www.chartresenlumieres.com/en/

Day Trip to Normandy D-Day Beaches
We took the train from Paris to Caen and rented a car to drive around Normandy. It's a harrowing experience to see those infamous beaches, but definitely something everyone should do to honor the sacrifice of those that perished during the D-Day invasion. RIP. Three days in Paris, one day trip to Versailles | Travel Vlog
This video shares little clips from my sister and my travels in Paris earlier this month. Some sites shared in the vlog: Louvre Museum Palais-Royal Ladurée - best macarons ever - and they're all gluten free:-) Pink Mamma : http://www.bigmammagroup.com/fr/accueil (highly recommend for dinner and crème brulée) Our hotel Des Batignolles : http://www.batignolles.com/ Chateau de Versailles Claude Monet's home and gardens in Giverny We spent three days in Paris and took one day trip to Versailles and Giverny. Paris has got to be one of the most romantic cities I've ever visited. Every corner looks like a scene from a film. Unfortunately I forgot my camera one full day while site seeing to some other memorable spots like the Notre-Dame de Paris, Arc de Triomphe, Café de Flore, and the gorgeous Sainte-Chapelle de Paris (I know probably the worst day to forget my camera). Although I did get to capture some of my favorites in Paris from the first night at the eiffel and the day spent at the louvre museum. I'll be sharing more of our photos I captured on the blog soon. www.nikdreamer.com/blog music: epidemicsound.com P.S. How to get to Giverny from Paris by train
#DISTANTLANDS #daytripparis #Giverny http://www.distantlands.com One of the most iconic images of Impressionist art is Claude Monet’s Water Lilies series. You can see some of the famous paintings in the Orangerie Museum in Paris, but why not visit the actual gardens that inspired the paintings? Monet’s House and Gardens in Giverny are an easy and pleasant day trip from Paris. The village of Giverny is nestled in the Normandy countryside, about 50 miles northwest of Paris. The easiest way to get there is by train, and the journey takes a little over an hour – 45 minutes on the train to Vernon, and another 20 minutes for the shuttle to Giverny.

I hope you enjoy the ride! If you are looking for a Versailles tour with a unique spin, I would 100% recommend. Upon arrival in the town of Versailles, we rode to the famous city market to shop for our picnic supplies. We bought meat, cheese, bead, hummus, French pastries, fresh raspberries... all the essentials! We then cruised through the Château's enormous grounds along a network of fantastic trails and tree-lined paths, pausing along the way to share the rich history of the palace and French monarchy. I loved learning more about Marie Antoinette and the scandalous French monarchy! Next we had our picnic at the end of the Grand Canal. Life doesn't get much better than this! After lunch, we continued through the grounds to visit Marie Antoinette's Hamlet and the Petit Trianon. Finally, our bike tour offered us skip-the-line access to the Château to avoid the tremendously long lines. You see the room where Marie Antoinette’s guards were killed as they protected her from the mob at the beginning of the Revolution. You walk through the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors where King Louis greeted guests, and centuries later the Treaty of Versailles was signed to end World War I. By using the bike you explore exponentially more of the 2,000+ acres of royal property than you would ever be able to see on your own. This amazing Palace of Versailles tour is a wonderful day trip from Paris. If you are looking for a unique way to visit Versailles Palace or just want to avoid that feeling of frustration that you barely covered the palace of Versailles garden then I definitely recommend this tour to you! ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ 📌 VIDEO NOTES 📌 ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ FREE STUFF 🎁 AirBnB travel credit (25€ or equivalent): http://bit.ly/2yTkCAH CHECK OUT MY FAVOURITES: https://amzn.to/2M9ioYe * Best books to learn French * Favourite reads on life in France & French culture * Youtube gear (camera set up, drone...) * Travel essentials & more If you're awesome and wish to help me subtitle my videos, please go here: https://bit.ly/2m9vTId ⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯ You can join me, Rosie, for even more adventures on Not Even French! Eurostar London St Pancras to Paris Gare Du Nord 299kmh 186mph 🚞
We took a day trip to Paris from London, on the the #Eurostar! We took train #9004, which was scheduled to depart at 0701 but brought forward slightly to 0654. We took the London Underground to get to King's Cross St Pancras in the morning. The Eurostar terminal was bustling with activity as there were multiple trains leaving in the morning, and the departure lounge was pretty much filled up and we couldn't get seats. From the video, you can see passengers standing and waiting. I also checked out the various food options in the waiting area, including Pret a Manger. You are allowed to bring food and drink on board the Eurostar train, which was nice. Boarding started about 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time and the train left on schedule. The ride would take about 2 horus and 15 minutes, and from whatever I could see, we achieved a maximum speed of 299km/h for this ride, though we could have gone even faster at some stretches, I don't know. On board the train, Cafe Metropole was at coach number 8. (We were in coach 12). We went to coach 8 to buy Carnet tickets for the Paris transport system. Unfortunately, the tickets didn't work when we tried to use them to enter the RER station at Paris Gare Du Nord. We couldn't find any staff to help us, because the staff were on STRIKE and all the counters were closed. So we had to purchase another set of Carnet tickets from the ticket machine, which worked. 8 DISNEYLAND PARIS TIPS FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS | common made first visit mistakes | tips & tricks
What to wear to Disneyland Paris? How to make restaurant reservations? In this DLP video we give you tips & tricks to avoid common mistakes visitors of Disneyland Paris make. First timer mistakes in Disneyland Paris, first visit mistakes Disneyland Paris and also common made first visit DLP mistakes. We cover the following subjects: Thinking DLP is small; don’t fall into the trap of thinking Disneyland Paris is a tiny park. It’s smaller than Disney World, but there are two Parks (The Disneyland Park and Disney Studios) which cover a huge piece of land and you’ll do it all by foot. You’ll need a lot of time to see it all and experience the rides. Take your time and stay a few days! Underestimating the weather in Disneyland Paris; the weather in Disneyland Paris is unpredictable. Check the weather report before you pack and be prepared for everything. Bring a foldable umbrella, a good quality poncho and during wintertime: thick scarf and gloves. Wear layers, because when it’s warm you can take something off. Making no reservations Disneyland Paris; when it’s not so busy in the park you are in luck, because you might find a spot in a nice restaurant after all. But most of the times you’ll end up at counter service restaurants which are less of an experience and have basic menu options. That’s why making reservations is very important. You can call the disneyland paris dinner reservation number at +33 (0) 1 60 30 40 50 and you can make your reservation up to two months in advance. Leaving your stroller at home or Not renting a stroller at Disneyland Paris: are your kids a bit to big for a stroller and can they walk on their own? Despite this, you’ll probably gonna need to rent a stroller. Kids get tired very quick from all the walking and they wanna be able to rest. If they don’t, than a stroller comes in handy to use as a cart to put all of your stuff in. Renting a stroller in Disneyland Paris costs 20 euro per day. If you want to be able to park-hop with the stroller, than you’ll need to pay a 50 euro deposit. You will get it back when you return the stroller. Go without the Disneyland Paris app; you can’t live without the app of EuroDisney! You’ll need it for so many things, like getting up-to-date information about wait times, toilet locations, character meet and greets and so much more. “Saving” on the Photopass; buying a Photopass+ will cost you 70 euro, but you’ll get so much in return! All your ride-photo’s are stored on the Photopass and you can have professional photo’s taken from you (and your whole family) and the characters. There’s also a photo opportunity in front of the Disneyland Paris castle. With the Photopass you’ll buy off all of the photo’s made in Disneyland Paris, but if you don’t have a Photopass, then one photo will cost you around 20 euro’s each! Only bring your debit card; in Disneyland Paris not everything can be purchased with a VISA card of Debit card. Some things can only be bought in cash. For instance: some carts only take cash and also tips in restaurants can only be given to the waiter in real money. You can not put in on the bill. And what about MOUSEKEEPING? In your hotelroom you might want to give the housekeeping some money to let them know you appreciate them cleaning your room. You’re gonna need cash for this too. The number one mistake first timers make is wearing the wrong shoes. Shoes are everything when you’re walking several kilometers a few days in a row. Don’t wear flip-flops to disneyland paris or other shoes that might going to hurt your feet. Wear shoes that you trust or otherwise buy yourself new ones (an few weeks ahead) and wear the shoes a few times so they can stretch and fit your feet perfectly.
