We'll teach you how to use expressions like "in a nutshell", "please let me finish", and "don't get me wrong". You can use these expressions confidently in personal, social, and professional situations. Make sure to test your understanding of the lesson at https://www.engvid.com/how-to-discuss-a-topic-in-a-group/ To improve your English, subscribe to each of the teachers who appear in this lesson: Ronnie - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=EnglishLessons4U James - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=JamesESL Alex - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=AlexESLvid Adam - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=EnglishTeacherAdam Rebecca - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=RebeccaESL TRANSCRIPT: Hi! My name is Rebecca, and in today's lesson you'll learn how to participate effectively in a discussion in English, something you may need to do in your personal, professional, or academic life, okay? Now, the topic we'll use as our sample is this one: Is it better to study online or in a regular classroom? Okay? You'll have a chance to hear a discussion by native English speakers on this topic. What I'd like you to do is listen for any special expressions and phrases that they use during the discussion. Afterwards, I'll review the expressions and phrases with you, okay? Now, today I have some special friends who have agreed to help me with this lesson, and they're waiting in the classroom next door, so let's go and say hello to them. -- Hello! -- Hello! -- Hi! -- Hi! -- Well, look who's here. It's -- -- Ronnie. -- Alex. -- James. -- Adam. -- Thank you for joining me, and thanks for helping with this lesson, guys. -- No problem. -- No problem. -- So you know we're talking about discussions, and the topic is: Is it better to study online or in a regular classroom? Okay, who wants to go first? -- Okay, so I'll start, and I think that it's actually very good to study online because it's very convenient because you can study whenever you want and at your own pace. For example, someone like me, I like to study at nighttime. So for me, online works better because it's quiet at night, no one disturbs me, and I can do what I need to do. -- Okay, that's true, but if you're going to study online -- -- Sorry, but -- -- Please let me finish. Let me finish. As I was saying, that's true, but if you're studying online you do need to motivate yourself, so I think it's better to be in a classroom where you have other students and a teacher who can motivate you. -- That's true, but some people can't afford to go to a classroom and don't have enough money or resources to actually go to a big school. So studying online, you can actually do it for free. -- Me? Well, I would like to add -- May I say something? -- Sure. -- Soft skills. That's not usually talked about in schools, but when we talk about "soft skills", it's actual interaction, utilizing your English when you're with other people, and that's hard to get online because you're watching a screen and not actually interacting with other people. -- You make a very good point but I would also like to add that sometimes having classmates takes you away from your focus because you have to maybe review things many times for other people to catch up, or you have to do topics that are interesting to other people, not to yourself. So it's a little distracting sometimes, too. -- However, focus is a good thing. I mean, it's not a bad thing to repeat something because sometimes people don't catch the material the first time. So that way, you go over the material, and they -- you know, you get depth. So you get to learn more, and people who don't understand get the opportunity to ask questions and learn from it again. -- Yeah, but sometimes the resources that you get in a classroom are boring, and online you can just look up whatever you need on the Internet, and you've got it right there. You don't have to rely on a textbook. Sometimes it can be a bad textbook.

KPN Travels MakeMyTrip Fraud

02:06
How I got cheated by KPN Travels and MakeMyTrip: 1. Booked a bus ticket on MakeMyTrip.com, for Bangalore to Madurai KPN Travels. 2. MakeMyTrip shows two KPN Volvo A/C Multiaxle buses for the same destination, leaving at the same time (11PM) from Madiwala. One reaches Madurai earlier, so I booked that. 2. The boarding point for both buses as mentioned in MakeMytrip is Madiwala and I reach there at 10PM. 3. The KPN guys at the office see my ticket and tell me that I have to board a KPN van to Bommanahall as the bus departs from there. 4. The van arrives later and I ask the guys again showing my ticket. They confirm that I have to go to Bommanahalli. 5. I reach Bommanahalli and wait for the bus. 6. At 11PM I get a call from KPN bus driver. He informs that the bus is at Madiwala and if we are not there within 5 mins, it will depart. The bus will not stop at Bommanahalli. 7. Apparently, only the "other" Madurai Volvo bus stops at Bommanahalli. They said that the one I booked is "Hyderabad bus" -- The MakeMyTrip ticket doesnt mention anything like that. 7. Of course, I couldnt make it to Madiwala and we were left stranded till 12:30am at Bommanahalli. 8. Emailed MakeMyTrip Customer Care for refund. 9. Refund refused because "I was not there at the boarding point". 10. Replied to the customer care that I was present at the boarding point and KPN itself transported me away. 11. Customer care refuses refund because "KPN travels says it was customer mistake to board a van when the boarding point is Madiwala." NOW HERE IS THE FRAUD PART: 12. I go back to KPN Travels Madiwala at about 8PM and tell them I am here to board Volvo A/C MultiAxle to Madurai. 13. They tell me to wait, and board the van to Bommanahalli. 14. I tell them about the issue I faced earlier. 15. Switched on the video camera. 16. They guy at KPN clearly acknowledged that it was KPN's mistake for sending me to the wrong place. He also acknowledged that such incidents have happened before. 17. But he also clearly refuses a refund because the company does not have such a policy, even though it is not the customers fault. MakeMyTrip has been totally unhelpful so far. Their last reply was that it was "customer mistake for boarding the van". This video proves that their claim is a lie. Let us see how they respond. Update: I finally got MakMyTrip to refund the money. They refunded the money in July. I had to escalate to second level of MakeMyTrip customer care. It was a small amount, but being left out cold in a strange city at midnight without any accomodation was a big deal. KPN staff at both locations were not at all bothered that two customers have been left stranded for KPN's fault.

How to change Basic English into Business English

05:46
http://www.engvid.com/ Want to get that job? Improve your image? Sound more professional? Learn how to transform simple English words to business English vocabulary and watch your career take off! I'll show you how to change "get" to "receive", " make sure" to "ensure", "give more information" to "elaborate", and more. These small vocabulary changes will make a huge difference in your English level. Test yourself on this lesson at http://www.engvid.com/how-to-change-basic-english-into-business-english/ TRANSCRIPT: Hi. My name is Rebecca from www.engvid.com. Today, you're going to learn how to speak more professionally in business situations. Now, at times, it's all right to use informal language. It's acceptable in everyday situations. But there are times when you'll want to create a more powerful impression. And at that time, you'll want to be able to use business English. What's the difference between general English and business English? Well, sometimes, there's not very much difference. Sometimes, general English is used in business contexts. But sometimes, you use a higher-level word. And that's what I'm going to teach you in this lesson. Let's look at some really easy, common examples. For example, if you say -- or if you want to say, "I got your email", in regular English, you might just say, "I got your email." What would you say if you want to make it business English? You would say -- I'm giving you a clue. The word starts with R. Instead of saying, "I got your email"; "I received your email." Okay? Now, it becomes more formal and more business-like. Suppose you want to tell someone, "I need your help" or, "I need some help." What word could you use that starts with R instead of "need"? "Require." So instead of saying -- and you can also change more than the verb. The verb is the key, but you could say -- instead of saying, "I need some help", you could say, "I require some assistance." Now, you've changed two words, the verb and also a noun. Let's try another one. "Let's talk about it later." Which business word could you use? "Let's discuss -- let's discuss it later." That sounds much more professional than saying, "Let's talk about it later." Next one. "How do I get in touch with her?" What word could you use instead of that? "How do I contact her?" Okay? Good. "Please make sure you arrive on time." Which business word could you use instead of "make sure"? "Please ensure you arrive on time." "Please give her your travel plans." Instead of saying "give", you could say, "Please provide her with your itinerary." There, we've changed another word. Instead of saying "travel plan" or "travel plans", you could use the word "itinerary". An "itinerary" is usually a piece of paper or a document that lists your travel plans, when you're departing, when you're arriving, where, when, and so on. "Please let them know when you will be arriving." "Please let them know" -- instead of that, you could say, "Please inform them of your arrival." Okay? Good. "Please tell me why you've made this decision." "Please explain your decision." "Could you please talk some more about that subject?" "Could you please elaborate? Could you please elaborate on that." Now, this is actually a very useful word if you go to a conference or a meeting and you want someone to speak some more about a particular point or issue. It's a good, kind of, question to learn. "Could you please elaborate on that?" So "to elaborate" means to speak more or talk more, give more information. "How are you going to fix this problem?" Better than using the word "fix" is the word "solve". "How are you going to solve this problem?" All right? So try to do that for every simple word that you know and basic word that you know in general English, try to find a slightly more formal version, which will be your business English word. And use these words in an office environment. If you've found this helpful, please subscribe to my channel on YouTube. And if you'd like to do a quiz on this subject, you can also go to our website, www.engvid.com. Thanks very much. Good luck with your English.

Writing Letters: formal & informal English

12:22
A letter to your friend and a cover letter for a job application are written very differently. Whether you work in business or are taking the general IELTS or CELPIP test, knowing the difference between informal and formal writing is a skill you should have. Watch this writing lesson, take our quiz, and check out our resource page to become a better writer. - Use the resource: http://www.engvid.com/english-resource/formal-informal-english/ - Take the quiz: http://www.engvid.com/writing-letters-formal-informal-english/ http://www.engvid.com/ TRANSCRIPT: Hello, my name is Emma, and in today's lesson we are going to learn about writing. What kind of writing? Writing letters. Okay? So this is important for people who work in business. It's also important for people who like to write letters to their friends maybe or to their grandparents in English. Also, it is very... It is a very useful video for anyone who is taking the general IELTS test. So if you're taking not academic, but general, this is an important video. And also, if you plan to immigrate to Canada and you want to do the Canadian immigration test which is called: "the CELPIP", this video is also... It will also be useful and helpful to you. Okay? So let's get started. What do I mean by "formal" and "informal"? "Informal" means something you would write to your friends, something you would write to your parents, - well, probably your parents unless you're afraid of your parents, then you might be more formal -, your classmates, your coworkers. Okay? So this is... It means it's not formal; it's for people you know well. On the other hand, "formal" English we use with strangers, we use with our boss, in the workplace, we use it in these different ways. So it's the English you really have to think about, whereas informal is kind of the relaxed English. So relaxed, serious. Okay? So, sometimes you will have to write a letter formally, maybe to your boss or your company, other times maybe you're on holiday and you want to write a letter to your friend, you'll use informal English. So what is the difference? Let's see. Informal English uses contractions. What are contractions? "Didn't", "wouldn't", "couldn't", "haven't", "hasn't". So if you see a verb with an apostrophe and then a "t", that is a contraction. Okay? It's very important to know this because in formal writing, you don't use contractions. "Didn't" would be: "Did not". I can write that for you. "Did not". Couldn't: could not, haven't: have not, can't: cannot. Okay? So that's one major difference. Another major difference between formal and informal writing is the use of idioms; the use of certain expressions. If I'm writing to my friend, maybe I'll say: "Oh, you know, I've been very under the weather lately." Meaning: I've been very sick. If I'm writing to my boss, I won't use idioms. If I'm writing a formal letter, I will not use idioms. Those aren't good to use in formal writing. Phrasal verbs, this is another thing we find in informal writing. What is a phrasal verb? It's a verb that has a preposition. Okay? So, for example: "find out", "find" is a verb, "out" is the preposition. "Go" is the verb, "up" is the preposition. So the... The preposition adds a different meaning to the verb. Phrasal verbs are very difficult to learn; we have so many of them in English. My students have told me phrasal verbs are one of the hardest parts of learning English, but it's possible, you can do it.

How to Book a Flight Online

01:48
This tutorial is going to show you how to find and book a flight online. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial you are going to learn how to book a flight online as well as how to get a great price for your ticket. Step # 1 -- Searching for the Best Value Flight Before booking the flight it is a good idea to do some research on the best price available. Fortunately there are many websites available that provide this service, here we are going to be using Skyscanner which can be found at "www.skyscanner.com". You will need to choose where you want to fly from and to and a date for your departure and return. Enter any other details that might apply to you and click "Search". Step # 2 -- Choosing a Flight On the next page results will start to compile showing you the best prices available from several airlines. Check the times and price of the flight and when you are ready to book the ticket click "Select". The details of the journey will be checked by Skyscanner and in the window that opens you need to click "Book". Step # 3 -- Continuing to the Airlines Site You will then be redirected to the relevant airlines website and you should double check to make sure that the price is the same here as it was on Skyscanner -- as you can see here the amount is the same. Depending on which airline you are booking with the process might be different now. Step # 4 -- Completing the Booking In this example we will click "Continue". On the next page check the box to accept the terms and conditions and click "Continue" again. You will then need to enter your traveller information and then click "Continue". Now you will need to select whether you are carrying any baggage and click "Confirm". Select your seat for all the flights and click "Confirm" again. Decline the travel insurance then scroll down to the bottom and click "Continue" again. On the next page you will simply need to enter your credit card details to pay for the flight then click "Purchase" -- as this is just a tutorial we won't do this here, but that is how to book a flight online.

Speaker 2: Friends. A lot of people ask if it's a good idea to get a friend for their pet rabbit. We love when people get friends for their pet rabbits because rabbits are social animals who live in social groups in nature and they really enjoy the companionship of their own species. It's not so easy however to introduce rabbits and a lot of people have disastrous results and they call us after the fact instead of asking for advice beforehand and what happens is, they go to the pet store and they say, you know, "I have a female rabbit and I want to get a friend for the rabbit" and the pet store will say "Well, put the rabbit with another female, that way you won't have litters or whatever" and they sell the person what's supposed to be a female, it ends up being a male, the people have a litter a month later, so that's one possible ending. Another possible ending is they give them another female and the rabbits just don't get along and the person has no idea how to change this situation. So what we tell people when they want to introduce their rabbit to a friend is first of all, both rabbits need to be spayed and neutered so that they cannot reproduce and so that the hormones that drive them to reproduce will not be affecting their behavior when they're together. And what we do when we're introducing rabbits is house them side by side for a couple of weeks. In side by side pens with just enough air in between that they can't touch each other through the pens. And then we slowly introduce them and we do it by putting them in a constricted area and we wear shoes on our hands, tennis shoes on our hands. And we keep the rabbits from any kind of aggressive behavior and the minute they show any sign of aggression we plunge our hands down with the shoes on them to separate the rabbits. That way we don't get bitten, the rabbits don't get hurt, it's very easy. This is a bonded pair here now. These rabbits have been living together for a couple of years. This is a little Lion Head and this is a little Netherlands Dwarf. They're good buddies, bonded rabbits will huddle together, they'll eat together, they often do something called mirroring behavior where one rabbit will sit up and shake his hands and start to groom himself and the other rabbit will then sit up and shake his little paws and start to groom himself. Speaker 1: Copy cats. Speaker 2: Copy cats, copy rabbits, copy buns. And you'll see that in a bonded pair. It's really fun to have a bonded pair because you see behaviors that you don't see with single rabbits. One thing that really interests me is that even in the heat of the summer, these rabbits will lie together body to body, tight as can be when it's 90 degrees outside, they'll push their little bodies against one another in that heat and it doesn't bother them at all. They would much rather have the company of a bunny... Speaker 1: Oh, really? Speaker 2: ...than the coolness of separation. Yeah, it's really very touching to watch, actually. Speaker 1: You do have to consider that it's double the cost, right? I mean, it's... Speaker 2: It is double the cost. It's not double the space. Speaker 1: No, but the veterinary, I mean if you take them to the vet. Speaker 2: That's right. That's right. Speaker 1: The carriers, it's just more, but... Speaker 2: Well, not more carriers. If you take them to the vet you should be able to take them in one carrier. Speaker 1: Okay. Speaker 2: But the vet bills, the vet bills for sure, that's a big consideration. Speaker 1: Yeah, right. Speaker 2: If one gets sick, they're in contact with the other one, the other one is likely to get sick too, you may end up with two vet bills. So you do have to pay attention. Speaker 1: Double trouble, that's what I way. Double trouble. Speaker 2: On the other hand, when they have companionship of their own species, they're more relaxed an

Getting High Injecting Snake Venom

22:58
We met with a guy who's been injecting himself with snake venom for 20 years and he looks better than ever. -- Check out Steve's Comment Response video here! http://bit.ly/Venom-Response -- The hemotoxins which attack human blood cells in a tree viper's venom can result in an agonising death in less than 30 minutes. The neurotoxins in a cobra bite can kill a person in half that time. for the past 20 years Steve Ludwin has been sticking all this lovely deadly snake juice in a syringe and mainlining it all the way to immortality. Privately milking an array of deadly snakes including rattlesnakes, monocled cobras, and a few casual vipers thrown in to the mix, Steve has been injecting what would for any normal human be fatal amounts venom into his body since the late 80s. The basic principle - laid out by pioneer herpetologist, Bill Haast, who died last year at the age of 100 - is that regular exposure to the venom results in the body developing an immunity. Steve claims to not only never get ill, but that cobra venom is the ultimate pick me up, with effects lasting a days after injecting, making Steve stronger, faster and more resilient. Finally it looks like mainstream scientific research might be catching up. Social Security Disability: What NOT To Do

04:59
http://www.lawmed.com/ http://www.YouTube.com/HensonFuerst/ The process of applying for Social Security Disability benefits is long and difficult. If you make the wrong move, you could RUIN your chances of getting benefits. In this video, David Henson--managing partner of HensonFuerst Attorneys--discusses what NOT to do during the application process. For more information about many other legal issues related to workers' compensation or personal injury, please visit our website at http://www.lawmed.com/. And don't forget to watch our other videos at http://www.youtube.com/hensonfuerst/. (Principal office of Henson & Fuerst, PA: 2501 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607) Applying for Social Security Disability is tough. At the time when you are feeling bad enough to be considered disabled, the agency seems to want to make the process as difficult as possible. If you want to make their job easier, I can help you with that. Hi, I'm David Henson, managing partner with HensonFuerst Attorneys. We help people through the long and exhausting process of attaining Social Security Disability benefits everyday. Of the many things we've learned along the way, one lesson is clear: The SSA looks for reasons to reject your claim. Here are the top 5 things you can do to help SS shut you out. 1. Don't get medical care for your conditions. 2. Do drugs or alcohol. 3.Break the law, or end up in jail. 4.Don't keep your lawyer up-to-date on your situation. 5. Miss deadlines or appointments. If you work hard all your life, and end up so injured or sick that you can no longer work, you may be eligible to receive Social Security Disability benefits. But just because you are eligible, that doesn't mean you are entitled. There is a world of reasons why your case may be not be approved...don't hand the courts a reason to deny your claim. This is David Henson, with HensonFuerst Attorneys. For more information about how we can help you fight for your SSD benefits, visit our website at LAWMED.com/SocialSecurityDisability/. Or, call us at 1-800-4-LAWMED. If you have questions, HensonFuerst has answers.

Pani Puri (Puchka) in Kolkata - One of The BEST Indian Street Food Snacks!

03:01
Pani puri, also called puchka in Kolkata, is one of the best Indian street food snacks. I loved snacking on them when I was in Kolkata, India. There are few Indian street foods more intriguing, tempting, and as popular as something known as pani puri. In Kolkata, they are known as puchka and in other parts of India they are referred to as golgappa, but they are all quite similar, and the most common name is just pani puri. These snacks are widely available in India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Puri is the world for a deep fried piece of dough, which in this case is a little hollow ball about the size of a golf ball. It's crispy like a chip. Pani is the Hindi word for water, so both together make up chips and water. Pani puri is available all over India, but in this Indian street food video, I'm on the streets of Kolkata for my first taste of a pani puri. As soon as I rolled up, the vendor first handed me a small bowl that was made from a leaf. The bowl was tiny, only able to hold a single pani puri at a single time. It was time to begin round one. The vendor began by grabbing a puri from his big stockpile, an entire tower of puris, and he then poked a hole in it with his thumb. He then added some masala spiced potatoes, a few spices and finally dipped into a bucket of water. Now it's not just plain water that fills the puris, in this case it was tamarind infused water including extra spices, onions, and cilantro. So after the pani puri (puchka) was completely assembled, the vendor then handed it to me by placing it in the small leaf bowl. Huddled around the vendor, I grabbed the puri, and plopped the entire combination of ingredients into my mouth in a single bite. You have to take a single bite, of the ingredients will all spill out. What greeted my mouth was an extremely delicious burst of crunchy was transformed into a flavorful gush of the spicy tamarind water. It was a culinary sensation like I'd never had before, a contrast of flavors and textures that really went well together. As soon as I had chewed down my first pani puri, the vendor was immediately ready with another fresh one, and placed it into my bowl again. It's important to eat pani puri one at a time so they don't get soggy from the water. I ate a round of five, though I wanted to stand there indefinitely and eat more and more. I mentioned above, pani puri is a favorite Indian street food, and it's available all over the country. There are a number of different variations and alterations of the snack, but the ones in Kolkata are normally filled with tamarind water that's salty and sour. If you are in Kolkata, be sure to take a wander around the New Market where you'll find all kinds of chaotic action including a ton of delicious street food. I Wanna Be a Human Resources Officer · A Day In The Life Of A Human Resources Officer

03:55
Hans goes behind the scenes to find out what being a Human Resource Officer entails. Check out more information about a career in Human Resources here: https://studentedge.org/career-life/find-a-career/human-resources-officer Want to see more career videos from Student Edge? ↓ Click here http://s-edg.com/careervideos G'day, Hans here. Now look there are two types of people in this world, those that organize things and the rest of us are just kind of do what they say but if you think you're good with people and you like organizing things maybe human resources could be a career for you. We're here at the Department of Mines to find out what it's all about. You hear the term human resources all the time but it's a pretty obscure and confusing job title. All i know is that it involves dealing with lots of people which is why I'm here at one of the biggest people machines in WA, the Department of Mines and Petroleum to find out exactly what a human resources officer does. Great to meet you Alyce. Well let's start with everything, I need to know if you're working in Human Resources what do you do? So pretty much we work with the employees right through from application to retirement and that could be anything from looking after their safety to training to providing wellness programs or diversity events. So you follow someone's career basically from the beginning right through the end. Yeah while they're in that specific organization. Sure and ok well let's start at the beginning how you came to be in the job. What was your particular path? Where did you study how are you here today? I studied the ECU I studied a bachelor of business and I did a major in human resource management and from that I engaged in lots of different work experience, internship placements I put my name on the templates here at this department and they asked me to come back and work on my initial project. Okay, talk me through a day a typical day of yours when you turn up what do you get up to? First thing I do is look at my emails to make sure there's no employees that are concerned about any issues. That's the first thing you need to get to you need to reply to them quickly. I also because I'm the wellness coordinator I do a lot of events and presentations so i might be one day I might be booking in a presentation I'm checking that staff have RSVP'd properly that kind of thing. We also organize occupational safety and health inductions for new staff so i might be sending out invites. Okay, it's time for you to give us the edge. Can you do that? Absolutely question number one, just quickly from school to what you do now what's the process? Definitely finish high school and an excellent way to increase your opportunities then enroll in either a human resource management course at there's a number of different institutions that offer it or you could do a degree in business and get a a major in human resources or even a psychology degree. Question 2 if I want to be really successful in human resources what characteristics do i need? Definitely a good people person, you need to love working with people, also excellent communication skills that's a big one you need to always be talking with people and also being able to say the same thing to everybody being consistent with your advice to give throughout the organization. And question number three, if you could have done one thing differently but still end up exactly where you are today what would you have done there? Good question i'm quite happy with the path I took but I will say definitely being a little bit more comfortable about asking questions and seeking advice. Well Alyce, thank you so much for talking me through it I now know what it means to work in human resources. Thank you very much it's been really fun. Well there you go that's just the tip of the iceberg of what it means to work in human resources. If you want to get involved you want more info you gotta get onto https://studentedge.org and don't forget if you really keen about it get out there network and meet people.

If the Moon were replaced with some of our planets

01:43
In order show: Mars Venus Neptune Uranus Jupiter Saturn Mercury is intentionally left off as it isn't Much bigger than our Moon (and hence is boring) Everything is correctly scaled. The Axial tilts are not particularly accurate. the moon that flies in front of Saturn is Tethys. It is Tiny. but *very* close Dione would be on a collision course, it's orbital distance from Saturn is Nearly identical to our Moon's orbit around Earth Titan, which is Larger than our Moon, is outside the orbit of Dione **************** on Jupiter, you might be able to make out the 4 big moons, They all have orbits larger than our moons orbit. but I stuck them on the far side of jupiter so that they could be seen so it looks as if they are closer (to Jupiter) than they really are. *************** Video creation method I created an Earth Moon system in 3dsmax, with accurate sizes and accurate orbital distances.. I than matched video of the real Moon with my video camera, against my model. I also researched the correct FOV of my video camera. I used both methods to verify my Virtual camera's FOV (around 47 degrees). I next modeled up the rest of the planets in proper scale (Real values) set at the distance of the moon (also real values), created the animation of them rotating around, and composited the whole bunch. *************** Faq: Scales used in Visualization: Celestial Body Radius (in km) Moon: 1738 Mars: 3397 Venus: 6052 Neptune: 25,269 (equatorial) 24,340 (polar) Uranus: 25,559 (equatorial) 24,973 (polar) Jupiter: 71,490 (equatorial) 66,854 (polar) Saturn: 60,268 (equatorial) 54,360 (polar) (not including rings) Distance to Moon 384,000km Faq: (will expand as needed) 1, We would not be engulfed by Jupiter or any other planet, Jupiter's radius is 71,490 km and the distance to the Moon is 384,000km 2, Saturn is not larger than Jupiter. Saturn + RINGS is larger than Jupiter 3, We would suffer from really really horrible tides, and Volcanoes And some pretty bad Radiation from Jupiter. It *could* strip away our atmosphere, but haven't done the math. Eventually our planet would become tidally locked (that is the same side of Earth would always face Jupiter. we would Still have some bad tides and volcanoes from being in a slightly ellipitical orbit, and from the other moons of Jupiter, and the Sun having tidal influence. I have not calculated how bad the Tides would be. A Simple guess would be at Least 300 times more exaggerated than they are now, This figure could be way off, it's simply an educated guess. 4, We would not be in the rings of Saturn. Or to rephrase that, we would not be in any of the Visable rings of Saturn, There are some very very faint rings that strech out far that we would be in, but i did not model them. 5, We would not be crushed by the Gravity of Jupiter, This is not how orbiting works!. However, at the Roche limit, we WOULD become a new ring system, The Roche limit is *about* 36,000km above the "surface" of Jupiter or 106,000km from the center of Jupiter. So, to reiterate if the center of Jupiter was 106,000km away from the center of the earth, Our planet would become a new Ring system of Jupiter. 6, I did not model the Ring of debris around Uranus (this faq will be deleted in a few days) 7, This is not an ad for any beer company, no one has endorsed me, or this animation, It's just the traffic that drove by. 8, There is Ring Shine on Saturn, but it is very faint, the Rings are reflecting light onto Saturn in the animation. The moon that flies by is Tethys 9, I love Pluto, and Mercury. They are left off because they are too small. Pluto is smaller than our Moon, and Mercury is not significantly larger than our Moon. 10, The "Sun" i used for lighting the planets is slightly off from reality, this was done so that they weren't totally dark and boring 11 FOV is about 47 degrees 12 Orbiting! Yes! we would be a moon of Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune. They are much more massive than the Earth. Venus is about the same size of the Earth and we would orbit around a center point between us 13 Rotation rates and axial tilts are not accurate to anything 14 Radius of the Sun is 695,500 km, and hence if it were where our Moon is, we would be engulfed by it

05:06
These 5 phone interview questions are critical for you to prepare for. Having examples and good answers prepared for these questions will go a long way to getting you to the next stage of the interview process. Free report: https://theinterviewguys.com/how-to-give-perfect-interview-answers-every-time-3/?utm_source=phonQD&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=youtube Watch Jeff & Mike The Interview Guys go through their top 5 phone interview questions. These are the 5 that you should definitely prepare thoroughly for beforehand. If you want more tips on how to handle a phone interview in general, check out our "phone interview tips" video.... MIKE Hello, I'm Mike and this is my friend Jeff. But you probably know us as the Interview Guys. JEFF Today we are going to talk to you about one of the most important parts of the interview process, the Phone Interview, sometimes called a screening interview. This is often the first step in the interview process, where the company wants to go through a "feeling out" process with you so they can get a feel for the type of person you are. MIKE That's right Jeff. It's also a good time for the company to ask questions regarding certain requirements, like willingness to relocate, or travel, or any salary restrictions. This allows them to eliminate any candidates that won't fit their basic requirements so that they do not waste anyone's time by bringing them in for an in-person interview. After that, a lot of the questions can be similar to those asked by company's that only do in person interviews. Okay, so there are a lot of questions that could be asked in Phone Interviews, so Jeff and I thought we would give you our list of the Top 5 most commonly asked Phone Interview Questions. The main thing to remember when answering these questions is that it's not about you, it's about them. JEFF Mike's right. Each question you are asked is an opportunity for you to show that you are the Perfect Candidate for the position, and you can do this by infusing your answers with the qualities, or strengths, that the company desires. Watch to the end of the video and you can find out more about how to do this. But now, on to the list! MIKE Number one our list is "Tell me about yourself", which you can almost guarantee will be asked on your interview. You want to answer this question by identifying the key qualities that the company is looking for in their perfect candidate and infuse those into your answer. The second part is to use an accomplishment or success story from your past to give an example of when you exemplified that quality. JEFF Second on our list is "Why did you apply for this job"? In this question, the interviewer is trying to get a feel for your intentions and learn about how enthusiastic you are about the company and the position. Remember not to make your answer all about you. This is another opportunity for you to target the company's desired qualities, but more importantly, show the company what you are going to do for them. MIKE Number three on our list is "Why are you thinking of leaving your current position?" If it was because you left voluntarily, then reference a specific characteristic that the company you are interviewing for has that you are attracted to (one that your previous employer doesn't have). If you were let go, be honest and explain the situation and own it. Explain what you learned from the experience, because the interviewer just wants to see that you dealt with it and are a better person because of it. JEFF Fourth on our list is "What are your key strengths and weaknesses"? For the strength, be specific and tell a brief work related example of you exhibiting that strength. Again pick an example and a strength that is based on your knowledge of what they're looking for. For the weakness question, be honest and show that you have taken steps to correct the weakness. But remember, be sure not to choose a weakness that is one of the basic requirements of the job. MIKE And finally, the number 5 most common question is "Do you have any questions for me/us?" By preparing some targeted questions to ask, you're showing the interviewer that you are somebody who is genuinely interested in the company. This is also another opportunity for you to find out what their requirements and hopes are, and trying to align your experience and accomplishments with what it is that they put high value in.
