Naming Ceremony of A Bamileke Princess w/ King S.M. KAMAJOU ROGER

44:15
After tracing my roots to the people of Bamileke in the Grasslands of western Cameroon the King of Bangangte Bahouoc greeted us and welcomed me with a naming ceremony giving me the title Princess and name MBEUGAZEU (Mm-boo-u-gone-zaa) for the english speakers. Meaning "the first", "the opener" in the Medumba language. I learned that the Bamileke during the Islamic invasion/ slave trade was forced to migrate to the mountains where some reside today, but where they migrated from is where the Tikar are today. Bamileke like the Tikar also say their ancestors migrate out of Egipt as well in fact they build their palaces with roof top shape pyramids just as their ancestors did. They are descendants of Tikar. I have also learned something new when I came back from my journey to Cameroon I was invited to a Bamilike meeting here in America and I shared with the council and group my travels back home. They were very welcoming and very proud, one of the members of the council who was from Bahouoc later starting calling me "mafo" and said I was the second "mafo" of the group. I later learned "mafo" in Medumba means queen mother! Because I was adopted by the king of Bahouoc as a daughter, a princess I believe he was implying this meaning!

The Eʋes (Hebrews) Of The Kingdom Juda: Slave Coast (Throwback)

30:19
This message seeks to bring to light the truth, origins and traditions of a people left in the dark; The Erhverh people of Ghana, Togo, Benin and Southwestern Nigeria. They are known to the world by the corrupted name "EWE". They together with the Ga-Dangme and Yoruba entity have a long traditional origin that stems from Kanaan. They are linked by blood. Thus, the majority of the Haitian people descend from this very same bloodline and origin. Learn about the meaning of our name here. Performances of three dances--(1) Borborbor, (2) Awusa, (3) Sauma--are led by master drummer and dancer Kofi Avi. This is the first part of a two video series; see part 2 at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itRImRSsMw4 . (Awudome Senior High School, PO Box 33, Tsito, Volta Region, Ghana) Borborbor is a recreational dance of the Ewe people in Ghana's Volta Region, blending traditional percussion rhythms with Christian themes and harmonies in the singing. Borborbor is often played at celebrations and funerals. Awusa is performed by the Hausa people of northern Ghana, most of whom are Muslims. It is used to entertain at durbars and other festive occasions. Awusa is a royal dance and is depicted by the performers' dress while dancing. Solma is a social dance performed by the people of the Northern territories of Ghana, especially by the Mossi. It is a very old dance that is performed during festivals.

THE PERFECT KORKLUI (Corn porridge from the Ewe tribe of Ghana).

05:53
Korklui is a corn based porridge where the dough is sieved into small rounded pebbles. The porridge is prevalent in the Ewe tribe of Ghana and it's challenging to recreate to say the least. It's interesting to know the Ewe tribe also have a silky smooth porridge and at the same time a gritty one. Enjoy this recipe, leave comments , subscribe and share. Ghana shares new superlab with West African scientists

04:42
“For once researchers in Ghana can start to dream. Right now you are not limited by the absence of equipment,” says Lawrence Borquaye, assistant manager of the new central laboratory at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The lab, opened in May, cost the university US$6.5 million to build and fill with some of the most advanced lab equipment in the world. The idea behind it is to reduce costs by sharing equipment between individual departments. And the novel collaborative approach is even more ambitious than that: it is open to researchers from other universities both in Ghana and other West African countries. The lab’s designers are confident that the fees charged will help pay for its upkeep. This is part of the Africa’s PhD Renaissance series funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
