Somewhere, My Love (Lara's Theme from "Doctor Zhivago") - Maurice Jarre

03:18
Somewhere, my love, There will be songs to sing Although the snow Covers the hope of spring. Somewhere a hill Blossoms in green and gold And there are dreams All that your heart can hold. Someday we'll meet again, my love. Someday whenever the spring breaks through. You'll come to me Out of the long ago, Warm as the wind, Soft as the kiss of snow. Till then, my sweet, Think of me now and then. God, speed my love 'Til you are mine again.

The Happy Farmer - Schumann (1810- 1856)

01:11
Robert Schumann liked to write music that told a story through the melody. The story Schumann is telling in this song is about a happy farmer. The farmer is returning home, dragging a pitchfork, stomping on his heavy boots. You can also hear the sound of barnyard chicks (the chords in the song) and you hear the lighter sounds of the voice of the farmers wife. Very fun to play, and just as fun to listen to.

Home Sweet Home - Henry Rowley Bishop (1786-1855)

01:52
This song that has thrilled millions of souls, the product of a homeless wanderer, an exile, one who never knew the beauty of home life! and all the rest of it. A true story by John Howard Payne - an American actor, poet, playwright - who wrote the lyrics to the song. He was in a cheap lodging in Paris, and the depressing influence of the sky and air were in harmony with the feeling of solitude and sadness which oppressed his soul as he sat in his room, diverting his thoughts with the sight of the happy crowds promenading the streets below him, the words came rushing into his mind, to lift, console and refresh his over-burdened heart: To the home of my childhood in sorrow I came And I fondly expected to find it the same; Full of sunshine and joy as I thought it to be In the days when the world was all sunshine to me. Those scenes were unaltered by time, and I stood Looking down on the village, half hid by the wood; That happy abode where I used to possess A father's affection, a mother's caress.

River Flows in You - Yiruma

03:43
Consider your dream in the light of this quotation from Siddhartha by Herman Hesse: But he learned more from the river than Vasudeva could teach him. He learned from it continually. Above all, he learned from it how to listen with a still heart, with a waiting, open soul, without passion, without desire, without judgement, without opinions.

Mariage D'amour - Senneville & Olivier Toussaint

02:57
Wedding of love... The Story of Les Ruses D'amour Long ago, when parents chose whom their children would marry, the bride and groom frequently did not meet until the wedding. Isabelle and Damis find themselves in this position. Damis is the son of a Duc, while Isabelle is the daughter of a wealthy family. Their families have already signed the marriage contract, and once signed, it cannot be broken without serious consequences. However, both Isabelle and Damis are reluctant to enter into this marriage. One of Isabelle's friends suggests that she disguise herself as a maid to at least look at Damis before the marriage. Isabelle agrees and changes clothing with her maid, Marinetta. Meanwhile, Damis tells his valet, Antonio, about his concerns then exits to think things over, leaving Antonio holding Damis fine jacket. Yielding to temptation, Antonio puts on the jacket and begins to strut around the square. Isabelle returns and sees Antonios pompous display. Thinking that he is her betrothed, she panics and instructs her maid to pretend to be the prospective bride. When Damis returns and sees the unsophisticated Marinetta, he fears that she is the woman that his parents have arranged for him to marry. The resulting confusion sets the stage for some delightfully absurd situations. Ultimately, everybody believes that they have fallen in love with somebody that they will not be able to marry. The wedding continues as planned, with the heavily veiled bride sobbing her way up the aisle. But, as in all good stories, all ends happily with a double wedding.

Serenade - Schubert (1797-1828)

02:36
Schubert's immortal "Serenade" was written in 1826. It is so familiar that it needs no analysis, nor is one necessary from any point of view. It is simply a lovely melody from first note to last, written upon the inspiration of the moment, and yet characterized by absolute perfection of finish and a grace and beauty of which one never tires.

Only Time - Enya

04:23
Who can say where the road goes, / where the days flows? Only time. And who can say if your love grows, / as your heart chose? Only time. Who can say why your heart sights, / as your life flies? Only time. And who can say why your heart cries, / when your love lies? Only time.
