Join me for a short trip from Barcelona to Valencia on a RENFE Talgo 250 train. This was a fantastic way to travel, especially with the spacious seats and great scenery. It would be a mistake to drive. The food could be improved and it's a shame promo ticket holders can't use the lounge - but otherwise all very lovely 8/10. All shot in 4K on the iPhone 6s. Join me for a short trip from London to Paris on Eurostar. We will also check out the business lounge using our Amex Plat card. Eurostar is a great way to travel and saves a lot of the hassles of air travel. The new trains are excellent and really make for an enjoyable journey. 9/10. All shot in 4K on the iPhone 6s. Join us on our exciting trip from Busan (South Korea) to Fukuoka (Japan), travelling on the Beetle Jetfoil Ferry. It is a relatively inexpensive and charming way to make the journey. They crew were excellent and it was a comfortable ride. I certainly recommend you try it and would easily choose this over flying if I regularly travelled on the route. 8/10. As I don't speak Japanese I booked using A-Ferry, who I could't fault. I'm not being paid anything by them to say that. For those of you interested in your boats, it is a Boeing 929-117, Built under license by Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. in Kobe, Japan. All was shot in glorious 4K. Any thoughts? do let me know in the comments. A flight video is also on the way.

Join us for a trip from Tokyo Narita to London Heathrow, in British Airways First Class. Before the flight we make a brief stop in the JAL First Class lounge. Overall their staff and facilities were excellent, apart from needing more english magazines I couldn't fault them. The flight was wonderful, as you would expect from first class. Negatives were the screen could be larger and the toilets were very basic. On the plus side the seat, while not legendary, was well planned and stylish. The food was plentiful and excellent, with fantastic wines to boot. Lastly the staff were attentive and also very personable - BA really does have it's own special charm in this department. 8/10. Shot in January 2016. Most of the footage is 4K, although I didn't get the time lapses in this resolution. Any thoughts? do let me know in the comments.

Join us for a trip from Doha to Bangkok with Qatar Airways, on the top deck of their A380. The top deck economy area is quite small and a bit much nicer than being downstairs. Overall the flight was excellent and the attendants very friendly. Food was also tasty, with quality rather than quantity. 9/10. All shot in 4K on the iPhone 6s. Join me for a trip from Singapore to the Indonesian island of Bintan, travelling by Bintan Resorts Ferry in Emerald Class. The experience was very enjoyable and the drink, wifi and entertainment are all nice touches. It's not much extra to go Emerald Class but I;m not sure I would pay it for such a short trip. Bintan itself is a great island and I would recommend staying outside the 'Resort Area'. For any Geographers it is a fascinating place. All shot in 4K on the iPhone 6s. Join me for a short trip from Paris to London, in Air France Economy on a Airbus A321. We will also check out the business lounge in CDG using our Alitalia status. The service was excellent, legroom ample and snack tasty. For such a short flight it was perfectly fine 8/10. All shot in 4K. Any thoughts? do let me know in the comments.

Join us for our flight from London Heathrow to Seoul, in British Airways Club World Business Class on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The seating is tight, but the layout works well if you are with someone. The crew were nice and we got a personal welcome. Food was very tasty, although having to choose between cheese and dessert felt a bit sub standard. I can backup all the praise that is given to the Dreamliner regarding quietness and air quality. While a Wonderfull experience that will appeal to many - there are better business class offerings out there 7/10. Most of the footage is 4K, although I didn't get the time lapses in this resolution. Join us for a trip from Amsterdam to Hong Kong, in Cathay Pacific's Business Class. Overall the flight was very enjoyable, unnotable in a good way. While not flashy, their offering is well thought out. The staff were attentive but also left you to get on with things if you wanted. 8/10. Shot on 12th November 2015. Most of the footage is 4K, although I didn't get the time lapses in this resolution. Any thoughts? do let me know in the comments.

Join me for a trip from Singapore Changi Airport to Doha Hamad International Airport in Qatar Airways economy class on the very modern Airbus A350-900 XWB. We'll also check out the SATS Premier Lounge in Changi Terminal 3 and go for a very quick dip in the swimming pool at Hamad International. The Airbus A350 was fantastic and a joy to fly in, noticeably more comfortable than the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Little details like the smaller IFE boxes and wider seats make the A350 very comfortable, even in economy. There was a good range entertainment on the IFE, although the interface was a little complicated to use. The food was nice but only one of the three options was left and the second snack got repetitive after four flights! The crew, while very smart and fairly professional, were a tad disinterested and seemed to lack the spark or charm of those on other airlines (Emirates, BA). That said, the crews were better on some of my other Qatar Airways legs in this trip. Overall a solid flight on an excellent aircraft, but the experience was a tad sterile 7/10. Hamad International is a joy to transit through, do check out the pool and gym if you have time. It's a bit expensive at 150 QAR (around £32 or $40), but well worth it if you have a long transit or want a bit of a refresh. All shot in 4K on the iPhone 6s. Time for a bit of a change and a bit of an experiment. Here is a trip report from a lovely train ride from Hakuba (where I was skiing), to Tokyo. It's a very scenic route and a lovely way to travel. It is shot using an app that records in HDR, I'd love to hear your feedback on this. For the tech minded I should add that this isn't 'proper' HDR, the kind that TV makers and content providers (including youtube) are working on rolling out at the moment. Don't worry if you prefer my trips by air - I'm editing down a trip in BA Business Class on a 787 Dreamliner and hope to have this up shortly. Any thoughts? Do let me know in the comments. P x

Join us for a trip to Athens in economy class on Aegean Airlines. We'll also check out Lufthansa's Senator Lounge in the new London Heathrow Terminal 2 using frequent flyer status. I'd been hoping to try Aegean for a while so was pleased when the opportunity arose. Overall it was a nice airline with a good bit of Greek character to it. The seats were comfortable and spacious although the meal was a bit of a disappointment after what I had heard about them. The sweets were a nice touch though. For the length of flight it would have been nice to have something other than adverts on the IFE. The seatbelt sign was on pretty much all the way which led to confusion over whether people could use the toilet, some people were allowed others weren't. I also had a cup of tea spilled on me! Accidents happen and it wasn't a big deal, but I did have to go to the back and ask for a dry cleaning form, which I feel they should have proactively given me. Being bussed at Athens when there were lots of free gates was also frustrating, especially as we were delayed arriving. I was there on a 'bad day' and I wouldn't mind flying with them again. They seem to putting a lot of work in to improve, so I hope this continues. 7/10. This is the second leg of a trip from Hong Kong (first leg to be uploaded soon). Join us in the very impressive Turkish Airlines lounge at Istanbul and then onboard in Business Class. This plane features "new" updated seats, which have basically received an slight refresh and new IFE system. Economy has also been updated. From what I have heard these are being rolled out on all their new aircraft. The lounge is pretty spectacular, although they need to be careful to not let key features such as the showers get too busy as passenger numbers increase. For the four hour flight from Istanbul to London the product and service are pretty exceptional - def 9/10. On a longer flight I would be more critical however. It is also worth mentioning that only a few of the flights between London and Istanbul are on wide body aircraft - pick carefully! Shot in November 2015. Most of the footage is 4K, although I didn't get the time lapses in this resolution. Any thoughts? do let me know in the comments. Cathay Pacific: www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LwQysIhLd4

Here is the first leg of our trip from Hong Kong to London. Join us in the Plaza Premium lounge, one of the best contract lounges I've been in, and onboard in business class. Pros: Excellent Food. Open seating layout is spacious. New IFE software with excellent selection of media. Free Wifi. Comfortable lay flat bed. From what I have seen, Turkish are constantly improving. Cons: Service is good, but can be a little hit and miss. Long bus ride from remote stand at Istanbul (business bus didn't wait for all business passengers). Some may not like that each seat doesn't have direct isle access. IFE stopped working and crew forgot to reset it. Turkish have improved leaps and bounds in the last few years and have a very competitive product. Some people don't like the seating layout but I quite like open cabins and think it works well, especially if you are travelling with others. It feels very open and spacious. The food is some of the best in the sky and there's lots of it. I liked the new sleeping set and updated IFE software - a couple of ways in which Turkish seems to be continually improving. The staff have also got much more friendly, but I this may need to be refined a little if they want to surpass the likes of Etihad and Cathay. Overall a solid flight, but a few more refinements would help Turkish stand out from the competition 7/10. Shot in November 2015. Most of the footage is 4K, although I didn't get the time lapses in this resolution. Any thoughts? do let me know in the comments.
