Icelandic silver on the Midfjardara known in Iceland as “The Queen of the Rivers”. I’m so grateful to my mum for loving fishing so much. I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity when I was younger to go fishing with my parents, brother and friends - making lasting memories, family bonding, getting outdoors and connecting with nature, that's what it's all about!

Some of you may be wondering how I met these girls and why I travelled (28 hours!!! That’s a story for another day 😂) to Sweden to see them? Well... I’ve been following both @matildaleijon and @louisearvidssons for a while and whilst I was doing the social media presenting for Fishing TV #WorldFishingDay these two popped up on my shift. They looked like so much fun so I messaged them saying how much they made me lol and shortly after I booked a spontaneous trip to chase pikes with them! Social media has its many pros and cons - we all have a love/ hate relationship with it but isn’t it amazing how we can use it (as a tool) to connect with kindred spirits 💗

When you hear the words ‘Plastic Pollution’, you would be forgiven if the first place that pops into your brain is the Ocean. The Lake District however, receives approximately 19 million tourists a year, bringing with them significant amount of waste. Though many people come to enjoy this area of natural beauty, few are aware of the potential threat that plastic pollution poses to this landscape. Sarah Roberts (Eco-journalist and Naturalist) and Marina Gibson (Professional Angler), recently journeyed on a fishing and wild camping adventure around Coniston, whilst discussing the potential impacts this form of pollution could have on their own back doorstep.
